not many have said it, but I am thinking Bond chooses a Milgauss.

Whatever Q would give him -- Bond doesn't pay for anything, and perhaps has little choice.
He definitely would not wear an Omega LE with "007" on the second hand counterbalance , or with the name of his movie etched on the crystal! Unless, of course, Q, being a man with a great sense of humour, might slip him one, saying with a wink, "trust me, it's the current rage with secret-agent-types". |

He would wear what was issued. Stealth for work, shiny for play. With a Bond strap.

Great idea for a thread. Here's how I look at it:
Bond would be a one watch man. He tries to fit in to his situation, but I don't think he'd go so far as to change watches. He often has to beat the crap out of people while wearing a tux, so I think a dedicated dress watch like a Patek is out of the question. Imagine all the times he's had to go diving and then pull off his wetsuit to reveal a suit. Bond, while in formal wear, needs his connection to something rugged but still luxurious. That brings me to my second point; it needs to be rugged. It needs to handle water and shock as well as look great at all times. He can't be wearing a G-Shock. Sorry guys, that's not Bond. As I see it, he would have one of three watches. The Rolex Submariner (no date. Bond can remember what day it is, c'mon guys), the Rolex Explorer (because it's rugged while still able to look formal), and the Omega Planet Ocean (because it looks good). |

On his own time, the current Bond wears a Project-X Sub, PVD coated with ground down crown guards and fixed bars on a black NATO.

In hindsight and in keeping with the 60s, probably an original Omega Seamaster in gold or stainless with leather strap. Or maybe the Constellation or De Ville

Another truly sad Bond thread. As relevant as asking what colour hat Gandalf would choose - (grey then white). Sigh!
The only redeeming feature is Saxon007's reply. Nice GWCs.

I disagree. We all know that James Bond is a fictional character and thus all of these question are moot. But I try to look beyond that, regard it as an homage to some of Rolex's mythical traits and just enjoy it. My escape from this world of doom and gloom.

Don't forget Bond dresses in style (classic style) so he would most likely go for a quality classic watch. ROLEX SUBMARINER

Since Mr Bond is prone to being tossed " involuntarily " out of planes/trains/automobiles/ships/skimobiles/human cannons- you name it , I nominate this one : Bremont MB1 -named after Martin-Baker , who manufacture ejector seats . It's British ( " London " on dial ) and is tested to withstand up to 30Gs of force and avail only to those who have been actually ejected from a plane.
If Bond hasn't ( yet ) been ejected thusly , they can issue him the MB2 , readily avail to " desk secret agents /desk BlackOps forces /desk fighter pilot WISs " everywhere. He doesn't need a mundane " diver" as any model with a good seal will suffice for a dip in the water , even to a few hundred ft. http://www.martin-baker.com/Sub-Navi...ont-Watch.aspx |

I'm going to assume he would pick he most rugged, durable watch that isn't digital, so back to Rolex. Probably an Explorer II.

Anyone can buy the equivalent MB2 - only diff is sl different dial graphics and diff color sweep second hand . You can also buy the same watch as a " U2 " with diff dial graphics and avail in DLC also. Again there is a " U2 Squadron " one that only former /current Air Force or CIA U2 spy plane pilots ( based at Beale AFB near Scaramento , Ca) can purchase and then the generic retail ones avail to anyone. On all these anti shock, anti magnetic models , the crown at 4 o' clock turns the internal elapsed -time chapter ring. The cases are treated by a British firm that hardens turbine blades . |

I think it would be something like a Calibre de Cartier. Classy yet a touch of sportiness. Would go well with a suit or casual and not too over the top.

Interesting thread. I'll tell you now: an SS DJ black dial and considering a Milgauss GV.
