I would have done the opposite and not looked at the Daytona's and bought the sub. I like watches I can get wet and I peosonally have no use for a chrono, so why pay for features I have no use for. The Dayton's had some mystique when they were hard to find, now the are everywhere.

Trust me, the Daytona survives when it gets wet

Well, let me say it this way:

The Daytona is a watch for women, the Sub is for men.....

No, of course not, I am just kidding when I look at all these starlets wearing the Daytona...

And, to be honest, I think the lines of the Daytona are more elegant and smooth...Definitely not my cup of tea, actually I never wanted a contemporary Daytona, had one 15 years ago, but she had to leave pretty soon.

But this is only my personal taste and opinion, of course the Daytona is a beautiful watch, and those who like it, enjoy it!

It is indeed beautiful. Someone commented on it being "busy" but that is part of the charm. You said that you think it is elegant which is interesting, I can't say I totally agree, but then again my DJ has a diamond dial which is also considered "elegant" by some so I may not have the best judgement on this.

The appeal for me is the fact that it is slim and comfortable. Every time I have looked at the Sub (non ceramic models) I found them to feel bulky and top heavy. The Daytona never feels obnoxious, it sits flat on the wrist and feels pretty much perfect.

I skipped the SubC because I figured that it would only be bigger and heavier than the last one... I still itch for a sub one day, but if i am honest with myself, I like the idea of having the sub... but i dont like the sub.

Daytona. Wait a lil' while for the Sub C market to be more saturated for maybe a slight discount or choices in the pre-own market.

There would be bound to be many in the market once it becomes a standard. I see prices for subs to soften slightly compared to a daytona which would definitely hold it's value better.

I would go for the Sub-c. I cant stop staring at mine. The Daytona is a beautiful watch but if I had one I would always worry about scratching it. With a Sub-c scratches seem to be part of its soul.

Scratches? We all hate them and I must admit that the Daytona has all the characteristics of a scratch magnet (mirror bezel, PCL, Polished case) but at the end of the day, you take it in for a service and it comes back like new.

Mine is still shiny and new... the first scratch always hurts the most...

Daytona because less people own/have it and the resale value in the future if you decide to move on.

I had a similar thing happen, but my ad called me and said we got a daytona, white face this time(i bought their black face a year ago).
I bought it, yay, love daytona, even if there is no date. haha.

I really wanted a deep sea and they always have one, I just could not make the call and buy it, not sure why.

oh yesterday Buddy texted me and said the Hulk came in.. damn.

bought it. haha. Did not think I would buy a Sub, thought I was gonna get a gmt, but this one was very talkative.

I feel complete for a while now.

I had a white dialled Daytona but I was underwhelmed so sold it. Now have a Sub C LV and much prefer it.

Curious to know, what you find more attractive about it???? It can't be the mere position change of the sub-dials, can it??? One really needs to look in order to see that. Could it be the highlighted sub-dials in black on the white dialed Zenith???? Other than that, can't really think of much to choose from/

Funny, quite the opposite with me............I was always underwhelmed by a Sub, even the new ceramic version. As iconic as they might be, everyone and there sister has one and every watch manufacturer makes a model that looks like it. Now a Daytona...........there you got something special

I bought a white daytona first, and then just recently a sub 16610, while it was still available. I am not a fan of the new one. I think I chose the daytona first since I was able to get a hold of one.
