Aykun,
Good things happen to good people, be patient and enjoy your watch from your thoughtful GF.
The thought is what matters most not the price tag.

Wow, this has become a very thought provoking thread.

I've been married for 16 years now and well remembering back to the days when my wife was my girlfriend, if she knew I had wanted one of the authentic ones and couldn't afford the real deal, I imagine she would have gotten me a replica/fake because she loved me.

I totally understand the sentiment of getting something from someone where their only desire is to make you happy cause they love you.

Here's to you getting the real deal when the time is right and you can truely afford it without selling off something you love.

Also I know you will look back sentimentally to the day she got that for you, especially if she is your wife one day. Sounds like a thoughtful young lady.

Now I don't believe in breaking the law in any way including fake rolex and I know you don't either, but when someone goes out of their way like this to show their love for you, its something you remember.

Right, and a "poser" is someone who tries to pass a fake as a real thing. Obsession was straight up about it, so elemental linguistics shows him to be anything but a poser. Frankly, he is the opposite, given his candor and frankness. He was looking to be in a safe place which this list serve should be.

Like advocatia, I do have my problems with the blatant theft of intellectual property inherent in these replicas, but that should not be transferred to a valuable list member who essentially had some courage to share this with his supposed brethren, an international group of watch snobs...which we basically are.
