My sub gripping the wheel of a lotus. I just can't see that hand gripping a kia or a saturn. With that being said you can't have one with out the other.

Honestly, I dont see how you can get any nice car for the price of a Rolex unless it was super diamond encrusted(and ugly).

Nothing lasts forever. Get what you want to enjoy RIGHT NOW as opposed to down the road.

Interesting points. I will say that, in years of reading about BMW M's on our enthusiast boards, I can't ever recall anyone mentioning their watches, or showcasing a time piece in photos of their ///M's.

I believe in buying pre-owned in both areas. I've pretty much got what I want and it certainly didn't break the bank. But my tastes aren't too expensive, classic or exotic.

Would love to have a 997TT cabrio as a daily commuter. There is no substitute saying is a personal permagrin thing. I vote for a car !

I'm new to the forum. I bought a 911SC Targa and a 36 mm SS DJ within 6 months of one another, in 1985. Nearly 30 years later the watch is on my wrist, and the car is in my garage (license plate reads FOSSIL). I am now looking for a second Rolex; I will keep the car. I tend buy and hold.

You can chuckle as you pass all the 'expensive' cars. I still love the fact that a $17k bike can pass most sports cars with ease....of course the car your passing doesn't.

I have no interest at all in luxury car. Zero. I do have an interest in a new GMT either SS or TT. For the price of one of those in like new, or mint condition here on the classified, or Ebay, it would be hard to get much more than a pre-pre-pre loved "beater" to drive to work in. I'll go for the new Rolex, for the price of a low end used car.

I'll keep my Rolexes and my 800+HP C6 (well until the C7 comes out next spring). If I had to choose ill take my car. Rolexs are nice but they don't go 200 mph and run the quarter in low 11s. My car gets noticed 100x more than my watches and it brings me more joy. I consider an expensive car $100k+. I consider an expensive watch $25k+. So I would take the car because IMO of expensive the car is worth 4x the watch. I consider my SS Rolexes fairly expensive for what they are but I don't consider my $55-60k truck expensive. It's all relative.

For me this is an easy answer...nice gold Rolex for sure! Especially considering I live in DC where having a nice car isn't considered very smart since its all street parking (unless your the top 1%) and nice cars tend to get stolen. Best to have a "reliable vehicle" like my Toyota Highlander and a few nice watches then a Range Rover and a Seiko.

rolex watches usually hold their value well, or even appreciate over time (especially sports model), not so for most cars
