Hate to burst you bubble but they aren't made by old men in cabins up in the alps. They are mass produced. There is a very small amount of human interaction with each watch. Almost everything is done by robots.

I tried taking some pics of the front of the watch but I can't upload them cause they're too big. If I reduce the size then it's pointless cause you can't see much.

If you look somewhat closely at the watch you can definitely see the hour marker is white, the hands not as much. Doesn't matter, though, cause I'm not happy with it and definitely think it's not up to standard Rolex quality. I've louped a few of my other watches (Rolex included) and others' Rolex watches and none of them had something that bad.

Regarding the mass production...yeah sorry to burst your bubble too but Rolex makes more watches in a year than companies like PP and ALS have made in their whole existence. If I'm mistaken please correct me.

Rolex is made in only one building, in one country. Many people love the Rolex brand and many people buy them. I would not call this mass produced. In some several or more countries, Rolex replicas are made in the thousands and distributed all around the world in large numbers. The quality is extremely poor , although sometimes difficult to tell the difference. I would call this mass produced.

The words 'mass produced' have a negative connotation and I would never associate that with Rolex. 'Mass produced' is associated with that which is poor quality. Large production numbers and the need to move products fast leads to poor quality too. That's not what Rolex does. I don't see the new line of watches and Deep Sea Challengers on sale at AD's just yet. But they probably are already being copied in some mass production countries.

If Rolex 'mass produced' it's watches, they would most certainly be much much less expensive!

Rolex spread their production across a few different buildings; they are not all under the one roof. Do a search on the internet. You'd be surprised at the information that's available.

Well, they are, whether you choose to call it so or not.

Mass production does not necessarily equate to poor quality. You're ascribing your own, incorrect, definition to the term (and then go on to contradict yourself).

Again, all this is only in your own mind.

^^^^^bingo. Our MB SL550 is mass produced. No quality issue there. Like it or not, call it what you will, they ARE mass produced. I don't know why some find it so hard to believe. Mass produced only means mass produced. It doesn't imply poor quality.
