While I pine to try one on, I know with 2 kids in college my desire must be tempered by the wait for them to both graduate. Once that is done, a pre-loved via TRF is in my future.
And may I dare to say on a bracelet in YG? |

I like it, but I do think bracelet. I do wonder what it would look like with block markers?

X2 THANK YOU!!! Exactly what I've always thought about this watch. I'm a lot more likely to forget what day it is than what month it is. That illogical hierarchy of functions really makes me wonder what Rolex was thinking.

I agree with the OP that the DD2 is a better designed piece. The Skydweller isn't favorite but I can see where it is appreciated. I think in the future it will be a sought after piece but if I were going to spend that kind of money, I think there are a few other pieces I'd get first starting with an Arabic numeral dial DD2.

Prior to have seen the watch I had a negative opinion on it...well I tried it on about 2 weeks ago and IMO it is the most perfect watch I have ever tried on....from beautiful complications to balance and fit to sheer esthetics; the watch is plain sexy.
The white gold SD is next on my hit list. |

Not for me and largely based on size, but I completely respect those who like it, if I was going to opt for one it would be chocolate on leather.....

Bit of a naive question, but does it accommodate different months day content? Like Feb being short?

I had the chance to play with the movement and it's absolutely a beautiful piece from a horology standpoint. It was complicated, works like a charm and no loose clicks
From an aesthetics standpoint the below quote sums it up

Hmmm, I was thinking about the IWC DaVinci perpetual digital for my next...
http://www.iwc.com/en/collection/davinci/IW3761/ Maybe SkyDweller could stay in the running. |

I think it looks good...but would have looked great without the date/cyclops.
But then I am a fan of symmetry, hence I love the no date sub. |

Too contemporary for my taste. If you see the watch time mag reviews, you'll see that it didn't score as the rest watches of the brand. If this one goes SS in let's say 5 years it will be 21 k give or take. At that point I'll get me a PP.

Chris, what kind of % off the gold sky dweller would be good to get? Thank you.

I tried it on as well several months ago (RG on a strap), I didn't like it at all.
It felt like a big chunk of expensive metal, not sophisticated at all. |

I love it! Fantastic watch!
If they made the RG on bracelet, it would be my pick ... things as they are, WG is my favorite.

First let me say that it is a stunning piece. However, does it bother anybody else when numbers are cut off (in this case the 5, 6 and 7)? Whenever I see a watch dial like that, it makes me think that they should have worked out the design better. JMHO....

I would rock the SkD in a heartbeat. And the weapon of choice would be with bracelet so either YG or WG although I prefer the chocolate dial of the everose. Some dislike the busy and asymmetrical dial layout but it's a very bold and striking piece. Not to mention in it's heart is the 9001 calibre which is the most complicated movement ever made by Rolex.
