I never had work done during the warranty, but well after the warranty expired I had service done at the RSC, and they never asked about papers. So, it doesn't matter to me.

Has Rolex turned away a warranty job (i.e. watch less than 2 years old) because the owner's name wasn't on the papers?

In the UK they will not honour a warranty without your name on it (as I was told by the reception at RSC St James Square). When I took my wife's DJ in for regulation, I was specifically asked if I purchased the watch from an Authorised Dealer and they checked that my name was on the card.
More duff info from a Rolex RSC. He / She does not know what they're talking about.

I don't think RSC checks the name on the warranty against your ID doc. Having name on card is just a personal preference thing. For me if I am spending brand new price, it better be my name or no name on card.
