I see TX,OK,ND AK etc

In big financial trouble if the price stays low for long .....prop values will drop...foreclosures and of course bank failures in those states.....kinda like 1984 all over again.

$2.09 today in Albuquerque, and falling daily. There's a real prospect of sub $2.00 gas for the first time since when?

Yep. There's a trade-off between it being good for wallet of the man of the street but bad for the economy as a whole.

Nearly 8 USD/Gallon for 98.

I am glad the oil prices have collapsed. It is insane what a citizen in the NL has to pay for heating and fuel. Huge burden for lots of families. At least now it's a bit easier.

I'm digging it!
How low can it go?

I filled up with Shell Saturday afternoon and the price of 86 octane was 2.06.

I passed by that station that evening and it was 1.99.

I paid 1.96, because I got 10˘ a gallon off with my Smith's points.

The oil patch in New Mexico, essentially the Permian basin, has been going full blast for some time now.

In Carlsbad, rent and property values have skyrocketed and regular folks, like school teachers who take jobs there, are having hell finding affordable housing or any housing at all for that matter.

I was thinking of taking a trip down there this last Fall, but after reading an article about it, I changed my mind. The motels are full of oil field workers and the price of a room is outrageous.

If this continues, there certainly will be a collapse, but if that does happen, it will be a return to sanity, but sadly some will get caught out in terms of property values and a lot of people in the support industry will suffer.

I keep forgetting to look / notice as I've trained myself not to look or notice the price for the last 5 or 8 years to just not fall over at the pump. But my last fill up was 20 less than what it has been
