New watch but has scratches

Sounds like a watch that was sold, worn, returned and sold again to you. The AD can always get a new warranty paper from Rolex with no name on it.

I worked in an AD during highschool many years ago. Rolexes were rotated in window displays where the heat was very high due to the lighting; this included Day-Dates too. Each night, the watches had to be taken out of the windows and the cases inside, and put in the safe. The were tossed in boxes made for the safe, and mixed with various rings and necklaces, depending on their location within the store, so it was easy to replicate in the morning. Some precious metal models can sit for months, even years and are still considered new. But from in and out of the case, people trying on etc bruises happen.

I do not understand this obsession with something being immaculate as the minute you put it on and wear it scratches will happen.

I should develop a rolex condom that protects the entire watch. I think thats a void that needs to be filled (pun intended)

For now....to everyone thats worried about scratches.....just wrap your watch in scotch tape after the factory stickers have fallen off.

Minor scratches will eventually happen. Unless the entire watch is coated with ceramic or other scratch resistant material...

But I can't really tell what the OP is complaining about without seeing any pic. Different people have different tolerance levels I guess.

Has the OP been back to repost in this thread? Have not seen pics, but with the way that I generally but watches at my AD (discount) I will take a couple minor scratches. If it bothered me that much the AD would polish out I am sure. As soon as I say yes they take them to the back and let the watchmaker give them the quick once over and size. If I was paying msrp I would be more critical, but i wear them so they will get minor scratches anyhow. Just my personal opinion.
