To the OP: your AD is BS'ing you. It is a watch in regular production and not a very good seller at that, thus Rolex is not over-producing it. AD's are quite happy because they can claim that they are in "high demand" and don't feel compelled to discount (even though I was offer a discount).

It is a singular and cool piece, but not as hyped or popular as seem people seem to think.

For a watch that isn't a good seller it's sure hard to find....in Canada.....and I know they can't keep them in Heathrow either....gone in less than a day whenever they get one in!

My local AD has had a few, but they've gone in the blink of an eye. So far I've only managed to have a quick look at a customer's watch, before he collected it.

I hope to get one soon. My ADs rep says they're still being allocated.
As said, if it's on display at Basel, it's current production.

They will run the dial for years it's in rolex's best interest to milk the model for all they can

Popped into watchfinder Royal Exchange, they had one on display dated as less than a year old, they want £9.5K madness that's £500 more than the last one they had in.

My AD in Tri State area offered me one today but passed as its way too big for me. Hope I don't regret it, but guess the discontinuation is hoopla. Though they are selling quick & is a unique watch if your into that look or have professional use for it.

Hmm, just stopped by my AD in Dubai. Sales clerk checked for me and said there is only one (1) in Dubai inventory right now and it is in the Dubai head office. He thinks they will stop making as well....mine is sleeping soundly in the safe with stickers on. Weight lifting is going well. Have dropped about 6 kilo of fat and added more muscle. Another 2 months of gym 5x a week and a Rubber b and I will break the seal.

Unless they start selling for a nice premium!

A clever strategy - keep supply just below actual demand. Would they have sold as many SS Daytonas and now the DSSD blue if not for the 'hard to get factor'? Anyone heard of De Beers? :)

Dang £9500 ! That's a lot.
Plus 20% VAT on top of that?

Tax in they are £8023 at an AD in Canada right now.
$14,200 plus 5% tax in Alberta = $14,910 CAD = £ 8023 today.
And that's brand new....not a year old.
What is the UK price in an AD?

Examples from non AD's in London seem to be commanding a premium.

VAT is included in UK prices, not added afterwards.

High demand, great selling... would really question that business strategy - but we'll see...

Rolex good at pushing the limited Koolaid. Wait til they release a new Deep Deepsea with red writing on dial.

The D-Blue hasn't followed the 'normal' releases...i.e., not at Basel. So, who knows? The AD is not one of those who do, however...

Frankly I've seen far too many unsubstantiated rumors in the past that followed this vein. The Green Crystal Milgauss comes to mind. By creating needless anxiety around unsubstantiated statements leads one to question the intentions of these statements. So until this is direct evidence that the D-Blue is officially going to be discontinued, all this fuss is about selling a D-Blue and about "acting fast" on the next available one because "who knows how many are left?"

The dial was released to coincide with the film, hence non-Basel.

At Rolex New Bond Street a month / maybe 3 weeks ago I was quoted £8250 - a minimum 10% deposit would get me on the waiting list with 7 buyers in front of me. I was asking on behalf of my Father in law - we would've expected delivery June/July (4 months). Haven't asked since as he's gone a bit flakey on this model...

[QUOTE=Dyim;5721502]Nice rides. But what's up with the garage?

Lol. That's my front courtyard! My house is on stilts 40 ft. off the ground on a side of a mountain in a canyon in LA. I converted the front yard to my toy gallery. I poured concrete, put up an 8 ft high fence and bought a lift. My wife hates the only usable space goes to cars. My 2014 Range Rover full size goes in the one car garage. I'm thinking about adding a garage door that is a roll up so I don't have to open the gate.

I can't put a roof in, since we're selling this year and hopefully moving to the beach and buyers would hate no sunlight for the front. But when we sell I'll tear out ghetto tent, and take the lift with me. Voila sunlight and usable space for a new family!

Rolex new CEO Jean-Frederic Dufour is no stranger to limited edition watches. I can imagine the struggle in Rolex, would they really stop production of a watch that is selling so well?
Thanks Dan, but I just read the article in the link and nowhere does it say it is a "limited edition"...
