I have owned and worn a Daytona for the better part of 16 years. Both the YG and SS models and had several at the same time. As noted earlier tastes and wear do change over time and I have sold my Daytona's for other watches. I still love the looks but the wear for me is toward the small side and the cost is toward the high side. The case update for the sub and the DDII seem to work best for me. I have just stepped back into the world of Omega with the Speedmaster 9300 in steel. Purchased through DavidSW ,slightly owned, the price is right and the 44.25mm case is sturdy and a pleasure to wear. I have a couple of OEM NATO's on the way to change up a bit. Give it a try as it wears nice.

That's a heck of a watch. Looks great on you too. Congrats on the pick up.

This watch has a Rolex bloodline but larger and easier to read than a Daytona.

...with a date and a second timezone bezel I'd take that over a modern Daytona.

Try the YM2. Anything but fragile or dainty feeling.

"Hi" Seth......

Love your new Vacheron Constantin, Overseas Chronograph.....

I try it on a few week ago....

The workmanship is superior & the blue dial look amazing.......

Also it a lot light than the Daytona....

The only thing I hate is the big depreciation....

If it have the same depreciation as the Daytona, the Vacheron Constantin, Overseas Chronograph would be in my watch collection...

Well for one are you going for fashion over function?
If you need a chronograph, then the YM II is not for you.

If your are just into sub dials there are many, many choices out there, they are just not in the current Rolex lineup.

Sorry, but, "dainty" this and "feminine" that, while you "rock" another one. The Daytona is a fine timepiece. I'm not surprised based on your post that you don't appreciate it. Luckily, there are a lot of other options. Enjoy the hunt for something that fits your style.

This. There's a reason why PAM and ROO are popular. Neither are for me, but different strokes for different folks.

What is a ROO?

Panerai Radiomir is a beautiful watch...except the chrono versions where it all goes wrong, it just isn't meant to be.

Design is a delicate art and everyone's brain reacts differently to what they see. A small thing can just look wrong to one individual but not be of any significance to another, like the position of the subdials on the modern Daytona. I'm not a chronograph person in general so they have to be just right for me. An original manual wind Valjoux Daytona I can warm too though!

The size is the main thing I like about the Daytona. It's the design of the current model that I'm not a huge fan of. The Speedy Pro is cool, but I wish it had screw down pushers with a better water resistance rating.

No problems with the Daytona here.
Yes it's a busy watch and I can understand why people prefer other classic Rolex watches but for me, the Daytona is perfect.

The Daytona wasn't for me either. I tried to love, but ended up selling due to being a safe queen. I found it too small for my liking and I really missed a date function.

I went with the oldest production run chrono out there...Breitling Navitimer (in particular, 01 LE). More wrist presence at 43mm, date function, 5 year warranty in-house movement, very rich aviation and space history, and the beautiful dial.

If 43mm isn't large enough for you, they recently released the Navi 01 in 46mm.

Good luck!

For me, Daytona is perfect and maybe because I have a smaller 6.5 inch wrist~ Time-less design helps too.

I find something I appreciate in all watches (for the most part-LOL), and really like chronographs. That said, I just cannot wear chrono's....they dials are just too busy for my liking.

Lovely pics, but I disagree it is a busy watch, it's a chrono and so has the standard layout which is executed with minimum fuss.
