I know it's not important to some but I've gotten pens, umbrella, Swiss army knifes during my occasional visits. Outstanding people. |

OP, go to the Rolex Boutique Wempe...
in NYC - ask to see the Day Dates first and they will surely offer you a cup of coffee or bottle of water! Seriously, your Rolex hunt should be fun and I think AD's know they won't sell a Rolex to every person that comes in the store for the first time.
Otherwise, I agree with everything GradyPhilpott (JJ) said! |

I've been to 2 AD's recently in NY.
Greg at Lorilil Jewelers in queens is a gentleman and very reasonable as far as prices. Mike at London Jewelers at the Americana Mall in Manhasset is a straight talker and let's you know the bottom line if you know how to ask. Never purchased anything more than links at either place, but was treated right at both stores. if I had the money to burn like some TRF members, I would only shop AD. |

When I thought I had trashed my Datejust movement (I hadn't, the 3135 is a tank!) my AD offered to write a letter to RSC to get me fast tracked for a huge engagement I had in a few weeks where wearing my Rolex was very important to me. That's an AD working for you after the sale ! |

Another option you might consider is Grey's Jewelers in Barrington, RI. They were a Rolex AD for many years (I believe Rolex consolidated ADs in the RI area and them being a small shop probably lost out) but they have a great selection of both pre-owned and unused Rolex's (which I think they may source from ADs but not sure). They've been in business for over 100 years (4th generation owner(s)/operated) and continue to be an AD for Patek Phillipe, Glashutte, Omega and others. They have a stellar reputation locally. I bought an unused 116610LV and with minimal negotiation I got a good deal along with better service than I've persoonally found at many ADs.

I have a few thoughts to share:
1) The qualities of ADs varies in the same way online sellers do. The TRF trusted sellers are the cream of the crop for online sales. There are also great ADs out there as well as bad ones. It's only fair to compare the great ADs to the TRF trusted sellers. 2) A great AD can help you select the watch that is right for you and avoid getting one that looks great in pictures but does not sing when on your wrist. A great AD will be there after the sale and make absolutely sure you are happy. A TRF seller will get you a great price. 3) For many members on this forum, you may not need the expertise and service of the AD, and that's great. You may know as much or more about Rolex than the sales person and you know what you want. Buy from the trusted seller. But how many here have gone to the AD, tried on watch after watch, learned about what makes each model unique and discovered the model that is perfect - then left the store and purchased the watch online at a discount? Does your sense of integrity suffer?

I couldn't agree more with looking into DavidSW.com I purchased my first Rolex GMT Master II 116713LN "New" condition. I couldn't be happier. Awesome seller.
