I did have strange looks when I opened it up in Mall of the Emirates... one or two sniggers from male shop assistants. I used to be careful as to its exposure in Muslim company. It has remained in remarkable condition for a seven year old wallet.... can't compete with 30 years though!

Gang,

I love the old wallet versus money clip debate amongst gentlemen who've been around long enough to give every version of toting your cash and cards a try. I am almost of the opinion that you can't effectively weigh-in on this topic until you are at least in your late 20's or early 30's as you most likely didn't have enough plastic to keep track of until then. You know, credit cards, insurance cards, Costco membership and so forth. I've tried every conceivable combination over the years including when we needed to carry a checkbook on our person. Ultimately in 1998 I found my holy grail at of all places, the golf pro shop at my club. It was basically a fold over with small pockets on the outside for cards and a metal bar/clip on the inside to hold cash. Everything was going along swimmingly until after about 6 years the outer pockets had stretched out a tad. So, in an effort to shrink it a touch I thought it would be a good idea to get it wet and place it in the oven to tighten it back up. Great theory, poor execution. I figured it would take a lot longer than it really does. As a result I ended up with a miniaturized version of my grail wallet. It was literally a third of its original size after 15 mins at 250..........ya, laugh all ya want as I'm certain none of my Rolex brethren have never done anything silly in your lifetime.

I wasn't all that upset as the wallet was only about 40 bucks when I bought it, so I figured I'd just get a new one.........that's where the fun began. My pro shop had long since quit selling them and nobody there could recall where they got them, so I set off on the Interfizzle to find it. I wore out my mouse looking and after 6 mos of carrying a wallet and a clip separately, I happened onto the following site: http://www.waskerd.com/wallets.html
The proprietor didn't have exactly what I wanted but he had something very very close. So, I emailed him and made a drawing and sent it to him. We spoke on the phone and when it was all said and done he added the "Pinnell" to his lineup and now I'm back in business with my last name as the version I carry. Give the site a look. I will post what they look like new and what they look like after 9 years of carrying it. Stay tuned.

Was mine for years - non magnetic holds cash and cards - used again when I had send M-clip for service. That's why I love the M-clip it is in essence a binder clip so one bill holds as tight act 20 bills and a few cards - doesn't stretch. I did over stuff once and pulled a bar out - hence service - now do side method as shown above when really packing.

Will never carry the big brown Costanza again

awesome! I guess money clips wasn't enough to hold your cash. Binder clips can hold so much more.

Was a wallet guy but now more of money clip guy. I go back and forth. Usually I'll use the wallet in winter and switch to money clip in the summer. My wife gave me a gold Tiffany money clip years ago and it works and looks great! Even when I use my wallet I miss my clip....

Also I like the look of the carbon fibre money clips but I'm concerned most will be cheap and nasty!

Has anyone got one or can recommend a good quality one?

From the looks of it, Montblanc's stainless steel with carbon inlay looks very nice. Also, William Henry makes some very cool limited edition models with carbon fiber.

Been using this. The money clip part is way too tight.
It does hold about 8 cards and 2 forms of ID.
I'm looking for something new.

This little device houses credit cards, business cards, cash, coins and also I never have to go searching for my keys....
