I think Rolex make the best looking watches out there. I have been wearing them for 37 years and no other watch appeals to me at all. Aesthetically I just don't think they can be beaten.

Rolex makes solid, classic looking watches. Reliability and serviceability are aspects that cannot be seen, but makes a Rolex more appealing in my eyes.
Ultra complicated movements and cases of other brands are visually attractive, but are often of no practical use, fragile, and cost a fortune to repair. |

Rolex watches really aren't mechanical artwork (though they do a great job for a mass produced product)in my eyes but the technical achievements they have made in production and durability is an art that should be appreciated. I think the CEO of Patek roughly said that Rolex's ability to produce high quality watches in large quantities should be admired.
If you want to see a piece that is pretty much as good and pure as it gets... https://www.hodinkee.com/articles/wi...ur-and-ferrier You will not get what is shown above from Rolex...it's just not what they do. |

My sky-dweller had to go for a warranty repair 1.5 year after purchase and RSC Toronto returned it within 4 weeks in a perfectly working condition. I examined the watch critically over a few days and couldn't find anything to complain about. Really impressed by their service! I had the opportunity to handle some awesome watches by other brands such as JLC's Duometre Chrono, Lange's GL1 moonphase, and various PP nautilii, but I think when I am in the market for a watch purchase I'll stick to Rolex - hopefully they will have some amazing new model by then, |

I see them as analogous to the Porsche 911. Most beautiful car ever? Probably not; most would go with a Jaguar E Type or Ferrari 250. Yet, the basic design of the 911 hasn't changed in over 50 years (much like a OP, Sub, or GMT) while Jaguar, Ferrari etc. keep redesigning their models. Not the most beautiful, but certainly the most iconic and functional.

It's 100% subjective. That being said, I personally love the oyster case and think it looks great.

A couple of years ago, Theiry Stern (President of Patek Phillipe) stated that they were well made and looked good. How would your friend respond to his comment?

So subjective. I think Rolex makes some of the most simple and good looking watches out there.

Are Rolls Royce the best looking car? Nope.
But you'd love to own one! So yes image is allot IMO. But Rolex do look nice, and made with nice materials. rgds matt |
