I like the SD but at that price point there are too many other watches I would choose first. If a PM Rolex was ever in the realm of possibility the DD40 would win every time. If I needed the GMT function I would prefer the Pepsi. So again I think it's a great watch but I think you see fewer because it's in an exclusive price range with some steep competition.

I think it's great in the metal and frankly many of you have it backwards, Michael Kors makes fake gold watches that tend to look like rolex. That's like saying pass on the bentley because it looks like a Chrysler 300

There is a new AD ( and the only one ) in my city, and they have a YG Skydweller like the one I saw and handled recently in Edinburgh. So that's two viewings in two months. If I had the money I'd buy YG Skydweller. Simply outstanding in every way.
Get the fork I'm done. I'd keep what I have of course, the GMT and Sub in SS, but to get some gold I can't think of a better watch than the Skydweller.

I had the white gold with charcoal face on black strap and really liked it. Hindsight, as nice as the strap is I probably would have liked it on metal more, but ended up trading it and and AP rose for my current 5990.

I like it. It's a big watch. But for the price, there are other watches I'd get before it (other Rolex, AP, etc)

RG-chocolate dial on bracelet is an impressive sight. It's my favorite of the lot. I believe they did an amazing job meshing function and form into a great looking piece.

I like it in rose gold on the strap a lot, but in that price range there is a long list of watches id rather have.

If it was available in SS I might consider one but at it's current price it is out of my price range.

I like the sky dweller but much prefer the YM II in gold or a gold sub. If your willing to spend the money i would take a look at the AP brand. Once you hit into that 30k range thats the direction i would go into.

My favorite YG watch due to size, wrist presence, classic fluted bezel and cyclops, dial, easy link, and most complicated Rolex with useful functions like date, gmt, and calendar. Highly recommend.

The Skydweller is an awesome watch. I'm going to get a rose gold one soon.

In my eyes its the pinnacle of Rolex even moreso than the DD.

Skydweller

Arabic dial, gold/chocolate, bracelet is the sportsman configuration.
Romans, white dial is the stately version.
Either way you go, this is a model that must be experienced to fully understand its appeal.

Month, date, and GMT all in one. What's not to love? RG and chocolate would be my choice.

I think they look fantastic and the complications are excellent. I think they got it 90% right but missed with me on a few points.

They have the date and month but no day of the week complication. I feel strongly that the 24 hour dial is less useful and that they should have made it a pure calendar watch.

Lastly the chopped off numbers at 6 o'clock just bug me.

If they replaced the 24 hour dial with a day wheel and centered it then I would find a way to buy one.

i had tried the Skydweller in Andorra. Fantastic watch with a great complication. For me, it will come out in Rolesor then SS shortly. In PM, I will opt for white gold model ivory dial ... beautiful!

But as the YM2, I expect the SS version.

Too rich for my blood, and I never really cared for it until I saw several in the window of the Rolex Boutique here in nyc.

Seeing it in person really made me like it lot.
