Hi,

No.. I just leave it alone and a few minutes later it's back to life again. I'm hoping they will discover a fix. Rest assured we are not alone.

Doesn't work so great if you're trying to take a pic of something happening.

Don't count on any fix anytime soon as it could be hardware related.

So far so good here with a 7 Plus. Once I got used to the no swiping things have been pretty smooth.

You are so screwed.

Ask Paul (Texex91) about the iPhone 7. His may have been a lemon, but his reviews of the Samsung have been very enlightening.

I'll wait for the 8, then decide if IOS is still the way to go.

You may be right but what alternative? Certainly not going back to the hand grenade Galaxy Note!

There are plenty of alternatives out there!

But congrats on new i7, hopefully it's exactly what you want.

But if it's not, go to your carriers store and look at alternatives.

new software puts heavier load on old hardware. never ever update an old device.

Not sure, I got the public beta a couple of days ago. I'm running 10.1 on my iPad Pro.

I tried that on my iPhone 4 for two years. Eventually it had enough quirks that it wouldn't function correctly and I had to update to the latest IOS, which was quite painful.

I find it difficult to believe that the hardware in a phone produced in the last year cannot run IOS written this year. We're not talking about putting Windows 10 on a Pentium 4. These are massively capable hardware platforms, that aren't much different than the latest model, getting a tweak.

I thought that too. A 'new' iPhone should be good for the next three iOS updates at least. My 5S (UK business phone) is running iOS 10 no problems at all, as is my 6S Plus (Singapore business phone). Unfortunately, my iPad Air 2 is not behaving quite so well.

My 5S has no problems. I did have to go back and toggle off some things I don't use after the update (news, wallet, etc.). Battery usage is the same.

batteries in phones are meant to last about a year or so with normal charging. if you keep them plugged in they last less, before you see decreased results.

its in no cell phone producers interest to keep that phone running more than a few years at optimal speed. plus hardware cannot keep pace with software.
