It depends on the watch. My pelagos is 42 mm but wears the same as the subc other than it being thicker. It's lug to lug width that matters most imo.

Love the the Sky Dweller and now that is it in SS and TT, I am even more interested. It is a unique piece and I have to have it in my collection. Really like the TT but could do the SS too.

I suspect the Sky-Dweller in SS wil do a "DaytonaC" and sell above MSRP for the first year or two (especially the blue version) and I am not going to wait two years before the price MAYBE drops to MSRP or below to get one....So I am in line for one and will buy one as soon as I can.

You will be able to pick one up quite easily and the fad will fade quickly after it hits the shops. You'll get discount from day one. |

I found it strange that I could walk in and order one Yesterday, several days after the announcement. I am first on the list. The sales guy said it definitely isn't another Daytona C. The had a TT Daytona brand new for about the same price as the SkyD, It was hard to pass it up although I didn't like the cramped Daytona dial on my wrist. My buying a Daytona seems to have fallen from likely to never.

The full PM bracelet although its heavy it actually evens out the head of the watch. With the bracelet being SS the weight I would think would become unbalanced and it may make the top heavy of the watch worse. |

I have always loved the SD, but could never afford the golds. I love the new blue and the new dial with indices instead of numbers. I travel a lot and would love having the GMT function as well

if i didnt get this watch the alternative is a gmt of some sort and a datejust. that proposition is nearly the same price if not more. kill two birds with 1 watch.

I'm in the same boat. Was going to get a BLNR and then maybe pair it with something more formal like the DJ, but this watch achieves both goals and I think would be an ideal partner to go along with the sportier DaytonaC.

Ordered my blue SS SD. Can't wait. It will join the BLNR and my nineties "vintage" collection of 16710 and 16713 pieces in my traveling watch rotation as a more business orientated watch. And if I really need a dressy gold GMT that Cellini dual time in WG is looking sweet.

I don't get the haters regarding the skyd
Daytona cost 12k and has functions that none of us use, however the new skyd will cost only 2k more and will be giving you 3 functions that most people will use all the time. |

He also advised that the one I am getting will be at list, and not discounted as with every other watch I buy from him. I really did not expect anything less. That said, he could be just setting my exceptions, but I do find that hard to believe. It is possible though. I imagine you have better buying power than I do, so I would guess that you will get the discount you predict if you decide to buy one. But my guess is that, at least early on, not too many discounts will be had.

I know for sure I won't be afforded any discount on the SS Skydweller should I chose to buy one this year. As far as scarcity, I have no intel on that.
