I agree with most people about the box, they really need an update.

I don't like any of the TT models. That look has been out of style for 15-20 years.

- I do not like the Daytona. If I was given one, I would sell it to buy something else.

- I do not understand WG. If you want gold, get YG. If you want the "white" look, buy SS.

I don't really get the Sub. Small dial, large bezel. Classic? Yes. Beautiful? Eh, not to me.

I don't understand why people who don't dive buy Submariners

I don't like the ubiquitous two-tone datejust that is worn mostly by older gentlemen.

True 'dat !!!

I can't even swim.......and I own both a Sub and a DSSD.

On the subject of my white gold post, last week I was at my AD and I tried on the WG Pepsi GMT........I love the watch personally, but I just cannot bring myself to pay for it, even with my discount !!

I had my DSSD on at the time, and the difference between the appearance of the two metals is quite vague, but still obvious to the trained eye up close. Even though........I just can't do it. The jury is out on the Platona however, as I have yet to see one or try one on in person.

I think the 116500LN is well worth the premium currently being charged by grey market dealers. I would have happily paid the extra if I hadn't been fortunate enough to grab one for MSRP.

Also, Subs are boring (and I had one for 10 years).

jubilee bracelets are ugly and outdated.

two tone subs are for men over 50 who sit poolside or play golf.

Some of these are obviously not Rolex-specific:
  • I don't see the usefulness of the chronograph complication in general and don't like the Daytona specifically.
  • I think that people who buy complications not relevant to their own activities (e.g. Subs for non-divers, etc.) are just posers, at least in their own minds ala Walter Mitty.
  • I hate the current trend toward ever-larger watches. I prefer 38-40mm and won't buy over 42mm despite that preventing me from owning at least one piece that I otherwise really like (IWC Portuguese Perpetual). Thickness is also an issue - 12mm max for me.
  • Rolex boxes really ought to be much nicer for their price point.
  • I don't buy watches (or anything else) to please others and I don't care what anyone thinks; I'm perfectly happy wearing YG or RG, but I happen to like WG. I stopped buying SS watches years ago, as they feel too light and insubstantial to me. WG has some nice heft, as well as a certain tone that SS just doesn't offer.
  • I don't care for the new Rolex Cellini Moonphase, as it doesn't actually show the moonphase in any direct or traditional fashion.
I think that's it off the top of my head, but there's sure to be more! LOL

I never liked the 16610, 168000, 16800 I always thought the lugs tapered too small which is why I think the 116610 is a much needed/improved version of the 16610.

Every Rolex with arabic numerals for each hour marker is hideous. The Daytonas are particularly disgusting.

It's fine that non-divers where dive watches and non-racers where racing chronos. Mechanical watches have been outclassed at these functions for decades. We bought nice things because we appreciate the craftsmanship, so be proud to time your eggs with that chrono and triumphantly rotate your diver bezel to mark when you started the washing machine. The dudes who hate on you are the actual try-hards.

I think Rolex has done a great job modernizing its most iconic models- the 36mm DJ, Sub, GMT II, and Daytona. I really dislike pretty much everything else in the current lineup. The Explorer II, DSSD, Milgauss, Air King, etc. are just atrocious.

The complaint about the Sub lugs is probably the most overblown topic here. Perhaps if you've been wearing 4/5 digit models for decades it matters, but it's just a total non-event on the wrist.

The 114060 is probably the best looking sports watch on the market.

How much time you got buddy?

In no particular order

1) dssd deep blue is hideous from top to bottom. I wouldn't add one if it was free.

2) two tone ditto

3) cyclops are ugly

4) Rolex boxes are

5) tons of people assume you're a d bag for wearing one

6) solid gold Rolex aren't "classy"

7) ALL ROLEX ARE JEWELRY AND NOTHING MORE!

Jubilee bracelet is best suited to an old wrinkled arm.

36mm is now a woman's size.

People that constantly live in the past harping on about vintage models look better are likely sitting watching their old CRT televisions trying to convince people that they are a better picture.

I hate the cyclops, it throws off the symmetry and gives me slight vertigo

I don't like rubber straps. e.g. 116655 YM

I've never seen a modded Rolex that I like or that added anything to the watch

Not really Rolex, but I really think the snowflake hands on Tudor are ugly.

I don't like ANY Daytona...with the exception of a few chronographs like the Omega Speedmaster Professional, most all chronographs look the SAME to me. Daytona or Seiko or Timex or AP.

To my eyes, the more cluttered the dial is with sub dials, the more the dial looks the same-- regardless of any brand or model.

Also Tudor are to Rolex as a Boxster (doesn't even deserve the Porsche title) is to the Carrera. Simply a cheap, ugly, poor mans version of the real deal.

Rolex box is terrible as well.
