Didn't get a watch for my 50th; got a new Jaguar, fwiw. Got rid of it not too long afterwards as I got tired of seeing it on the back of flat bed tow trucks.

It was a used $500 Tag Heuer. 5 years later, it's Rolex, Omega, Grand Seiko, Sinn and more.

Another vintage 67 guy here ,had mine in March & spread the celebrations out over the Year . Had a hard choice of which watch to celebrate my 50th, & was overjoyed when the SD43 was announced . But it just didn't look right on my wrist to me for everyday wear ( mostly in the office ), so went with a 16610LV & call it my 50th for 50 watch.

I haven't decided yet.
Fortunately I've got a few more years. ;)

Feel sorry for all you guys as you only just missed out on THE best year....1968
I have every intention of my 50th present being the SD43. Actually I will concede it’s the best choice for you 67 guys with the watch anniversary as well. |

My 50th was over 24 years ago. I think I was wearing a Seiko solar powered watch or a Casio memory bank watch at the time (this was after a few trips to Hong Kong).

Ah, yes the "Segala watch" :) (French people will know what I am referring to, I can explain otherwise).
I'm 1 year early, but recently got myself my first Rolex (an 114060) for my upcoming birthday. |
