They look different, some like BLNR and some SS BLRO.

I do not think it affects prices that much.

I'm not sure he meant it was discontinued immediately, but rather effectively a discontinued, out of date model now with the more current update. Even if the BLNR is still in production.

I've seen Ariel use similar language in the past when items weren't immediately discontinued, but effectively discontinued with a revised model. Not sure I'd take at face value.

Also, if you go back and re-read, Ariel backtracked a little and said it is likely to be discontinued.

I love my BLNR. But this is a unique scenario where the new version blro is just so much different from an already beloved version that it may not have any effect. The blnr was such a cool watch to begin with and made the most sense; blue for day, black for night. And it came on a sportier oyster bracelet. If I had to take a guess, they’ll keep it going, with perhaps a jubilee as an option and an updated movement within the next two-four years.

4. Even though Rolex is a mass produced brand, there are not as many BLNRs out there (as compared to, say, the GMT LN or a date/no date Submariner).
5. And talking about the GMT LN, it did not ‘crash’ with the introduction of the BLNR.

Both pieces will function well, and as part of a bigger collection complement each other nicely. While I will purchase a SS BLRO when I get one (as well as either the TT or full RG Black-Brown), I intend to always keep my BLNR God willing.

Hey BLNR Nairobi, moving there this summer. How are the ADs there? Recommendations?

BLNR will keep going strong. If discontinued it will definitely become a very important piece. Value will remain there. I am happy I was able to get one and wouldn’t swap it for the new pepsi. Not that I don’t think the new pepsi is a great watch, but the BLNR is a special watch for me.

Nice pic! I never put together that the BLNR kind of matches the BMW logo.

Yes, imo.
I would not want to get the Batman now, knowing that a better GMT movement is available.
70 hrs power reserve is important to me because it allows me
to rotate watches every 2 days without re-adjusting time and winding it.

However, I would guesstimate that 80% of buyers have no clue about movements and will buy the model based on looks alone.

The BLNR has one big glaring advantage...the colors are true in many light conditions. The Pepsi's dynamic bezel color may turn some off when they see it in the metal, I personally like the unique colors. I have found that the light in ADs I've been to showed the WG GMT intended bezel colors poorly, I had to walk to the window with the natural light to see a truer blue and red.

Just look at AD´s waiting lists with people piled up in line and there is your answer. Or, just ask three or four AD´s the question and they will have a better feel than anyone here. People in here will tell you what is convenient for them if they already own a BLNR, and no one owns a Pepsi yet.

Yes with people in line for Pepsi it will take away from the BLNR. However production of the BLNR will probably also decrease in favour of the Pepsi.

This will however end the numerous flipper interest for BLNR who will flee or have already fled to the Pepsi lineup.
