Personally I think 36mm is too small... but there is no right or wrong answer here. It is personal preference.

I have DD 40 and a DJ41, both of which I think are grand. 36 however is too small on my 7 and 3/4" wrist..

Absolutely not! 36mm is a perfect size for any wrist less than 8”. In fact...I think a 34mm can be worn very nicely on a 7.25” wrist!

I have a theory, which may or may not be true. But It seems to me that 36mm on an oyster bracelet seems more undersized/feminine than the similar watch on jubilee. The 36mm DJ on a jubilee is masculine in a retro kind of way. However, the oyster seems more modern, and as such makes the 36mm seem undersized. This may just for larger men like myself, or may be completely false and wrong. My 2cents

Not a fan of "big" watches, but I have tried many 36mm DJ and DD over the years. Love many of the models but I always end up moving them on. Just too small for my 7.5 wrist. Actually sad as it rules out a bunch of vintage watches I really like.

7.5 inch wrist. Wears super small. I actually don’t wear it anymore but can’t sell it. My wife wears a 31mm. I prefer my DJ41 but even then I think it’s a tad small but I love the jubilee. So I’m getting used to it. If I had to wear my 36mm DJ I don’t think I could. On the other hand I have a 36mm DD in the safe and for some reason it wears larger like a 37-38mm. Still a tad to small for me as my sweet spot is 40-43mm. But if I am going to a wedding or a place where it will be under a cuff I’ll wear my DD36. But I bought these watches before there was a such thing as a DD40 and DJ41. For the older generation that grew up with 36mm being the standard I get it. But the new standard for today is imo 40mm being the smallest for men.

36 way too small for 7.25 wrist. 40-42 is sweet spot.

I agree with you, looks small on your wrist. you need at least 40, 42 would be ideal.

36mm will look and feel tiny on a 7.25 wrist. I would aim for at least 40mm.

I have 7.25” wrists and I think a 36 DJ fits great. I feel fortunate because a Sub and a 41 DJ fit great too. I can wear those and they don’t look big, and a DJ 36 doesn’t look small either.

36 DJ 126234 on my 7.5" wrist. Absolutely nothing small about it. The 40 looked like a dinner plate, you could probably spot it from outer space. So I ordered the 36 and couldn't be happier.
I also have a Speedy, love that watch and it looks proper at 41-42mm. Sport watches are better suited on the larger side, imo. You can't go wrong with a classic, in the classic size.
Between the two, the DJ gets much more wrist time. It's all-day comfortable and never gets in the way.

My SS DateJust, white dial gets more wrist time than my SS Submariner Date. I also have a 7 1/2 wrist. The DateJust looks nice, and classy.

From a perspective of wearing a watch, even on my 6.5 in wrist a 36mm watch looks small to me as I'm accustomed to larger watches (39 to 40mm). However in photos, a 36mm watch seems to be magnified by perspective and looks the best imho. So i guess it depends on ones vantage point.

I think it depends on you as a person, what you’re wearing, and the type of watch.

I work with a guy who is always ‘well put together’ and he wears a 36mm vintage which oozes class.

I on the other hand am always ‘poorly put together’ and generally prefer wrist presence and a Sports watch, which looks good (IMHO) in a very different way.

I disagree with anyone that suggests a 36mm is a ladies watch, in the same way that the right lady wearing an Offshore can look great.

My wrist is 7.5 to 7 3/4 real circumference. 36mm is way too small for me.

IMO 36 mm is only for small wrists. Not more than 6,5 inches

7.25 wrist here, I have a tt dj and dd president both 36mm. Imo they’re perfect, the president looks alot bigger on the wrist due to the thicker case size. Wear what you like, period!

It’s about more than wrist size. My wrist is about 7”. I pull off a 44mm Breitling with ease. My 39mm Explorer is my favorite watch. I wanted a 36mm TT DJ until I tried it on. Just too small for the rest of me. YMMV
