You started with the two, from which I was going to suggest OP (more dressy, crown on the dial, classy for a daily formal wear), but then you added the DJ41, which to me is a much better choice than the other two for a formal everyday watch, especially since Date is important to me.

So from those three, DJ41 is my recommendation, followed by OP, followed by Exp1 which I love, but not for your purposes.

I wear in my birthday suit, summer suits, winter suits, blazers, khakis, polos, oxfords. Never feel like im to sporty as if I was in a Sub (although i did that a lot) and never feel dressed down in just t-shirt and pants. One of the most versatile pieces IMO and cant say enough about the white dial is truly beautiful.

I am extremely partial to the versatility of the Explorer, but I think that the Datejust is a much better option for someone that specifically stated he's always in suits. I'd go classic (jubilee bracelet and fluted bezel, black or white dial).

On the other hand, if you want something a little more subtle that doesn't shout to the world that it's a Rolex, then the OP in black would do the trick.

That being said, here are my reasons for strongly considering the Explorer:

Regarding the easylink extension, I couldn't imagine wearing a watch that didn't have adjustability. My wrist easily expands/contracts within the 5mm allowed for by the easylink depending on the weather.

I had a Seamaster Professional in the past whose clasp opened on me while swimming due to some grit impeding the lock (interesting that sand would be encountered by a diver's watch! Who could have possibly predicted such a condition would have to be dealt with in the ocean? Certainly not Omega.) because of its odd double button "safety" clasp.

In contrast, I simply ADORE the peace of mind that comes after the audible "click" of closing the oyster lock and enjoy it every morning when I put on the watch.

By the way, we've been in Riga since June and it's gotten so warm lately that without the easylink extension I would surely be struggling with a tight fit, and my watch is something I don't want to have nagging me. With Saint-Petersburgh basically around the corner, I'm sure you experience similar weather fluctuations, so keep that in mind.

Never missed easylink. Sometimes watch is tight, sometimes looser. Some people wear their watches always loose, somewhere them always tight. Is what it is. I'd only ever use the glidlock clasp on the DSSD model.

OP is not a sport divers watch, however i can say it has survived countless adventures on the Cape and Nantucket perfectly fine. Yes i wore in the water, yes i dug in the sand. Clasp was fine.

The double click lock is a "nice to have" IMO as I have never had my watch pop open. I do agree it gives an extra layer of security however as said before the OP is not a dive watch so if it did "pop" open from something somehow, it would just slide down my wrist, not off my hand.

If you are using your watch to record certain events where a bezel would be helpful, I am not sure if OP is the right choice for timing events via a bezel or chrono...but as long as you can add simple numbers and remember when something starts, youll be fine :)

Tried both, I went with the Explorer, depends what you’re looking for, the white dial OP is a great looking watch, also cost less.
The explorer is more sporty and I personally use easylink quite often.
Can’t go wrong either

Explorer. It is JUST enough of both worlds in my opinion. It is a PERFECT everyday watch.

Datejust 41 by a mile. You will want a date function If it’s your only watch. And let’s keep in mind it just got a new movement so it’s updated also. Easy link. I think the jubilee bracelet dresses it up but the smooth bezel makes it sporty and more modern. Rhodium dial is way more interesting. And you seem like a younger guy. The people you ask on here are normally older and have multiple watches. For a one watch man I would go Dj41 all day. Best bang for your buck. I had the black dial but the crystal always showed smudges. The rhodium dial looks good all the time. With the coating on the crystal Rolex uses I was cleaning my crystal all day. Bothered me to no end. The rhodium not so much.

Different for different people.
Personal opinion is the 39mm watches look too big.
So,,
The 36mm Explorer is better laid out and more proportunate than the 39mm Explorer
36mm datejust is a stone cold classic the 39mm to me looks like a fashion watch you’d win at a fairground.
The 36 mm oyster perpetual (116000) with blue 3-6-9 dial ,,, possibly the nicest watch in the current Rolex range.

Out of the ones you listed I’d pick the Explorer

I would agree with the comment that the OP39 looks better in your pictures. But I think it is because the numbers are reflecting the light, and it is not the same as seeing it live, when the reflections move around.

That said, I think I also prefer the OP39 in this case, as it is just a little more suited to your attire. If you dressed more casually then I would understand if you chose the EXP, but I would lean towards the OP or DJ41 here.

For me the white OP39 or DJ41, fluted on the DJ41. But that fluted bezel is a lot of extra cash for the bit of bling.

I really like fluted Rolex and gold/steel too. But they are too too shiny for my lifestyle and career. I need simple elegance. Everyday watch for every occasion, always on me. I don't want to put my watch in the pocket while doing fitness, playing tennis or swimming. I need the toolwatch, that is why I am searching from the Rolex models.

The DJ with he silver dial and the green romans. It’s the best all rounder. Sporty and dressy. One on my favourite DJs. I love with the fluted bezel as well.
