First trip with Rolex? Cruise Safety etc..

Flying back home. Wore Rolex in Cabo with a short sleeve shirt. Enjoyed it on the beach and in the ocean. Did not go anywhere besides that. Did not even get off the ship in the other two ports. My back was bothering me.

I'd be more concerned about falling off the ship or the mere fact of going to Mexico.....as far as wearing a Rolex in these places,I'm pretty sure the answer is obvious!!!

I always bring a Rolex and a Seiko Turtle when I cruise. Rolex for on-board activities ... Seiko Turtle for excursions and beach ..

Just wear it. Unless you're hiring a prostitute, going to seedy bars or clubs late at night or walking down deserted alleyways you will be fine. These cruise ships go to tourist destinations, not Juarez.

I have been on 16 cruises and always take my watches. I have worn Rolex watches in Mexico, Cuba, Haiti, Aruba, Jamaica, Spain, France, Italy and other places. You will be fine as long as you are somewhat responsible.

I would feel less comfortable wearing my watch to a McDonald's or gas station on the wrong side of my small town in North Carolina (not to mention crime ridden areas of New York, Chicago or Las Vegas) than I would in a resort area in Mexico.

By no means trying to be rude, but you bought the Rolex/watch to wear and enjoy. If it’s something that’s going to stress you out on a trip you shouldn’t take it. At the same time I think that raises many other questions about even having it.

I ask myself questions like this all the time and when I do, I realize it’s a watch I probably shouldn’t own.

I’d take it and enjoy it per usual daily life.

Leave the Rolex home. Mexico has big crime problems. Tijuana alone has had over 2,000 murders in 2018, more than US top 10 cities combined, and TJ has no where near the population. There is massive police corruption. If you go to jail, they will take your watch. We have no status of forces agreement with Mexico, so the US can’t easily get you back.

Leave it home and keep low profile. I would stay on the ship.

Are you ok with visibly walking around with 1000s of dollars attached to your wrist? Depending on the model, a Rolex can basically be currency. A thief will know what a Sub looks like. Some models can go under the radar.

Odds are that nothing will happen but you never know, especially in certain parts of Mexico. I wouldn't leave it on a cruise ship.

There are risk areas in every country. I have taken my watch to all my foreign trips, yes mostly europe but they also rob watches in Barcelona and Amsterdam. Use common sense, don't scream 'rob me'. Take notice of your surroundings. Don't be a target. Late night walks in shabby allyways or streets without a lot of other people are still the number 1 places to 'loose' your expensive belongings.
