They even give compliments to me if Im wearing a Patek. I find that the Rolex AD sales reps will give compliment to either Patek or Rolex. They're the few ones that can appreciate true art and craftmanship (or maybe I'm just blind to the idea that they're hoping I'll be buying a watch )

For WIS' like us we notice watches. We normally find ourselves shaking hands, doing the eye contact and then looking at the wrist. I've given my nod of appreciation whenever I've spotted a nice watch

As I have visited the one Rolex AD in Dublin Weir & sons of Grafton Street, they also have another store in Dundrum, on numerous occasions I can tell you that the staff are finding it hard to shift stock,not only Rolex but all the luxury brands that they are agents for. Yes people do purchase luxury watch brands but it is not as you portray it, like everywhere in the world there are affluent people over here but certainly not on the grand scale that you seem to think

Bobby there is ALOT of wealth in Dublin. But as with any big city there is a wealth disparity. Dublin has a thriving financial services sector, spanning all the major asset managers, institutional banks, legal providers, accountancy firms etc and increasing wealth from the tech sector. Salary levels are not exactly the same as London levels but rapidly on the rise in this sector.

The money is there, but historically, be it culturally or otherwise, there isn’t a huge demand for luxury watches amongst the Irish population. Priorities seem to lie elsewhere. This may gradually shift as disposable incomes further increase. That said, having already commented on this thread yesterday I had a look around at lunch and in the space of an hour I saw a Sub LB Bluesey on a guy eating and and a two tone GMT on a client later that day.

On a side note, Hartmanns in Galway have lost their AD licence so unfortunately we are down to only two ADs in the whole of the Republic, Weirs and Keanes. I have a relationship with all three but am, like most, struggling to get the “hotter” models.

Actually for like for like jobs, Dublin is substantially higher than London.

Definitely think it's a culture thing. Most of the folks I know would have no hesitation blowing €200 on night out every week than spend €200 on a nice jacket or pair shoes, let alone save for a Rolex! But again, I seem to notice a lot more Rolex around in the wild here especially in past few years so maybe there's a shift!

That isn’t true for like for like jobs in the sectors I’m in. Legal and investment management salaries are lower than London rates. Accountancy and accturial may be higher in some cases.

Yes, won’t be an official AD from mid - late Summer unfortunately. Pity as they are great to deal with.
