7.5 inch wrist. Both fit well. But the ROC wears considerably bigger. They’re both comfortable but nothing beats an oyster bracelet with the easy link. Maybe the most comfortable watch I own. For something special though the ROC wins hands down.

As an owner of both the white DaytonaC and the AP ROC Blue w/ Silver dials - the more striking is the ROC. I'll give you the pros and cons:

DaytonaC
1. Lighter to wear
2. Can bang it around (comparatively)
3. Different from a typical looking rolex (white, busier dial)

AP ROC
1. Breathtakingly beautiful
2. Well divided weight on the wrist (heavier than the DaytonaC but sits perfectly on my 6.75 wrist)
3. Added date-function

Essentially there's room for both in a collection provided you get the black w/ silver or blue w/ silver sub-dials. I really can't choose one over the other as there are days when I want to fly under the rader (comparatively) and wear my Daytona whereas on other days I go with my ROC.

I also have the both. Got the AP first than the Daytona at premium. Both are fantastic watches. Imho the AP is in another league itself with the design and details of the craftmanship. Daytona has its own charm and the case is more durable. Ap is more prone to scratches etc. The mechanism in AP is butter smooth. My advice is buy the Ap first than buy the Daytona at list price, problem solved :)

I think that AP is harder to find... If we are talking about the 26315 38mm chrono.

Let’s play this or that! AP Royal Oak panda Chronograph or White SS Rolex Daytona C?

Lots of great advice, and insight!
Some have told me to wait for a blue dial, because it is more preferred, but that silver dial...

The new 38mm ROC appears to wear much like the Daytona. There’s a good thread in the AP forum that has pics of both. I’ve got a white Daytona C but my next piece will be the new ROC 38.

I own both and the AP is hands down the more special watch. That being said, passing on the Daytona at retail is a fool’s move. Buy the Daytona and if you don’t love it, sell it and you’ll have made enough to buy the AP.

Can’t argue with a Royal Oak Chrono that costs you net 12-13k.

If you're looking for "something just a little more special" I would say go the ROC way since AP is doing about 35.000 watches per year and Rolex about 900.000. The ROC is more subtle. However the Daytona is a great watch. Anyway, you can't be wrong with any of them.

You definitely can’t argue with that. I just don’t want to get caught by my AD flipping watches. Like if the new buyer takes my watch to have it authenticated at another A.D. or service etc.
I don’t know if my A.D. would be alerted to stop selling me in that case but I am a little apprehensive to take the chance.

He’s pretty much made it clear to me that he can get whatever I want, but make sure I actually want it. ‘’Don’t turn around and sell it’’

They really do look the same size there, just the AP is too bezel heavy for me, same on the 39mm 15300.

Daytona at MSRP. If you’re looking at it from a market price perspective, then AP.

Daytona is not a >$20k quality watch.

AP for me. Probably in the minority but I've never cared for the rings around the sub-dials on the Daytona.

You might not be in that big of a minority. Surprisingly seems like a lot of people even on this forum seem to prefer the AP. It does seem smart to play the market on this one, and just go ahead and wait for my turn on the Daytona and sell it for the same price as the AP (save the 12 K)

I’m for the AP not even a second question

Never owned a Daytona

They do 0 for me
Hate the soft small case

AP is sharp, edgy, gorgeous brushed finishing

the ROC is more like a dressy watch which look best on suits. the daytona is more sporty and suitable for all occasions.

I am sort of in the same situation except I don't have an opportunity to buy the Daytona at retail price, I've been told I would need to spend a lot more on non sports Rolex watches to be considered.
I tried on the AP panda yesterday, the dealer also had a black dial 116500 at £18,000. At those prices there is no comparison imo, the AP really is on another level and I ended up securing it. If the Daytona was available to me at retail I would definitely buy one but I would still have the AP.

Price aside, I'd choose the Daytona all day, every day. Twice on Sundays. No love here for AP. Don't like the shape of the bezel nor the exposed screws. I'm not big on the case shape either. The bracelet I could take or leave.

I have the AP Panda and the zenith Daytona. Be prepared for exquisite finishing on the AP compared to the Daytonas. Whole different league. Had choice of blue dial but passed. The panda is the way to go in my view.
