Double Incoming - All Blue

You know the saying that you wait ages for a bus then 2 come along at the same time. Well this is exactly what happened to me this week.

I've been on the list for a couple of hard to get Rolex for a while now, so I was disappointed when I popped into my AD last Saturday and asked can you give me an estimate please? I was told 6-9 months.

Disappointed with this news I just happened to pop in Panerai on the way home for a look, I don't own a Panerai but have always been interested. After an hour watch fest I decided to fill the 9 month gap with a blue Panerai. Either the 2019 (1500 limited run) new blue dial Luminor 1033 GMT or the Special Boutique Edition Radiomir Blue dial 932. Only 388 world wide of the 932. I would though have to wait until Saturday next week for the GMT to be shipped to Jeddah from Riyadh to compare both together before buying.

No problems I left a decent deposit and left very happy. Then out of the blue (no pun intended) I get the call on Monday evening. Your hard to get Rolex has arrived your next on the list but hurry. So 2 days, not 9 months, you couldn't make it up. I'm doing the maths in my head as I'm taking the call, but work out I can pull it off. I was down to Rolex Monday night as when you get the call for this particular Rolex, you just don't risk letting the chance pass you by.

Finally I chose saw both Panerai together tonight and the choice was pretty easy in truth, one just really stood out. I love both my blue watches.

Just thought you might want to share some photos of a great incoming week for me. Thanks to my watch buddy Mark for all his encouragement.

Standard Rolex box, nothing wrong with that. However a Special edition blue lacquered wooden master piece for the Pan.
