I did insanity a few years back as well as eating clean. Only dropped 15lbs but got my body fat down to 9%. I’ve never been a heavy set guy to begin with.

I am going to start working out again in preparation for a Cancun trip.

Jenny Craig

I lost 20 lbs. on the Jenny Craig diet between Feb and July, 2019. Buy the food, eat the food, lose weight.

I also upped my exercise, but reduced eating is primarily responsible for the weight loss.

Other big takeaways: don’t eat out in restaurants (one of my hobbies) and don’t snack at night(another hobby).

Exercise is great and part of a healthy lifestyle but only small part of the deal where your weight is concerned ESPECIALLY IF YOU ARE OVER 40!! Take a long honest look at what passes through your lips. Everything and reevaluate what your diet needs to look like for you to lose the extra weight. 20 pounds on it's on is not a lot, the issues come when that is compounded with less energy, more fatigue and apathy. Workouts get blown off and your food intake goes up while your activity dwindles. In that sense 20 pounds is a pretty big deal and nothing to ignore. Be careful 20 can lead to 30-50-60 pretty quickly if you are not cautious and do something about it. JMHO

Any good doctor or nutritionist will tell you weight loss is 80% diet 20% exercise. Abs aren’t made in the gym, they are made in the kitchen.

A motivator or catalyst should be thinking down the road toward being healthy in retirement.

It’s a lot easier to implement healthy eating and lifestyle choices when you’re young, than trying to shed pounds when your old.

Older we get its 90% about what we put in our mouths. I have been eating Keto for roughly 18 months. Really like this one- no calorie counting and I’m at a level weight for the last 8 months. Lost 50 lbs in the first 10 months and down to a 32-33” waist.

Didn’t you say the wife buys all the watches? If she thinks you’re fat she might cut back the watch budget. Shed those pounds lol

I need to drop pounds myself

Throw in a few high rep days with less rest between. Keep your heart rate up, I bet you'll drop a few lbs. I hate cardio... so I pretend this works just as good

Seems ... as you get older your body cant process starchy carbs as well so eating the same stuff at 30 vs 20 gives a different result even with same exercise sleep etc.

I went low carb in 2012 lost a ton of weight and easily pack on muscle - dont have to go full keto or paleo just ditch bread, pasts, majority of potato and most sugar laden foods and processed junk.

I now eat a TON of steak, bacon, eggs, cheese, lamb, chicken and not a lot of veg so always full and always on top of healthy fats and protein.

I’m going to try to lower my food context for a bit. Cut back some.

So which means go to buffets less...also swap out the chips for the fruits

“Like you guys have suggested small little things
