yes, i could have bought either but did not fancy the met. i dislike confusing dials. also, the dials can be swapped over in a short while, according to what i heard from two ADs. met dial is supposed to cost 3K USD more or less.

I've seen that same type of meteorite dial on a DD and it was stunning.

But pardon me for asking, did you put a deposit down and get a piece of paper stating that the next one is yours? Afterall, waitlists seems to be about as real as a unicorn. Especially if the AD gets one a year. Without something more of a commitment from the AD, there could be a lot of disappointment after 12 months waiting for a watch that went to someone else. Afterall, do you expect that no one else will want one in that time that is a bigger player than you?

It almost seems like an AD saying 'we'll add you to the waitlist' is the polite way to move a customer along, all the time knowing they won't add any name to any list. But if you have a deposit with a receipt from the AD stating what watch you are waiting for gives you a better chance.

Anyway, it is a great looking watch. I wish you luck. I'd want one but out of my price range.

Haha I don't think any ADs are giving documents guaranteeing ones spot in line for a piece or delivery date

Well that’s the thing, I’m not a big fish, and this is a place with very big fishes. I’m brand new here but they still do know me and invite for some events.

I think the way to be sure to get it is to put down deposit for the next unallocated delivery. Just don’t think this one is such high demand as we here at TRF seem to expect and the blue dial is still more sought after.

no photo can capture the beauty of this piece. hope you can get yours soon. the reflection of the dial under sunlight is unreal.

I've asked every AD I've been in since it came out and no one has seen one in person yet. My favorite watch of 2019 by far!!

Amazing watch and the one I wanted, until I heard reports that it was hard to tell the time with the light colored hands. I am old and need to have really legible dials. I will enjoy it vicariously through you. Hope you get it soon.

BTW, I am still on the list at my AD. If they call me I will let you know in case you want to buy it long distance.

Thanks for the kind gesture! This one is already at AD with my name on it... just waiting for funds to clear and to have time to pick it

I can see what you mean with hard to read, it is a bit of concern in certain light the little I could see but with lume it kind of works anyway. Hope you get to have a good long look at one to see if you cannot read time after all, I know you regretted selling the meteorite Daytona you had earlier.

No deposit, since august. They already knew when it was going to arrive at that time. No big purchase history with AD but they knew me as I've been pestering them with other small things.

Very special piece and huge congrats to you and all the other fortunate owners!

This is a watch I would consider consolidating some SS watches for, IF it was available. But seems to be an absolute unicorn.

It’s a beautiful piece- congrats!

Looks like the same mark 1 bezel from the 116719. It’s odd Rolex isn’t updating the colors on the PM GMTs.
