True. But I don’t “beat up” my Sub. I just wear it day after day, every day. It’s my constant companion, going on the moment I wake up, coming off just before bed.

Rolex watches are meant to be worn. All of my watches have swirls and small scratches. It happens. Just wear it, and once every 5 years or so send it for service. It will look like new.

in my eyes this looks perfectly worn watch, however I won't treat my watch like this cause I used all my money to buy it. After my son born I sold my motorcycle and started buying my second safe passion watches. I do not have the intention to pay more for these items way over my shoulders.
So I care them. Besides these are tool watches for rich people for the fold like me its just our only way of having fun.
But honestly I like this guy who beats the shit of that watch, hope one day I have that money to spear.

I'm in the minority, but I never do that. The small (or not so small) scratches, dents, and dings are what personalize the watch and make it feel like it's mine. They remind me that we're on a journey together. They are my remembrance book. Whenever I send a watch in for servicing, I do so with big "DO NOT POLISH" instructions. But hey, do whatever will maximize your enjoyment from owning such a cool timepiece!

Its fine the owner is enjoying his watch without the typical ocd problem most have here about scratches. Don't forget that pic is a close up under bright lights it's not that bad !!!

Similar state of affairs on 14 month old BLNR. Picked up it's first scratch the day after I got it courtesy of my mother's cockerpoo (then a pup) enthusiastically jumping onto my lap. Didn't care about scratches before I picked it up from the AD, and still don't. I did catch the case on a door handle about a month in which may be more of a ding than a scratch. That started for a day or so, but has quickly become part of the watch. If anything I was a bit more gutted about a deep scratch on the case of my Milgauss which I bought with money left by my grandmother. Totally my fault though as I dropped it, AD said it's too deep to polish out when the service comes up. Even that I never notice anymore. But I know all the signature scratches on both, and doubtless will the others too as they occur. So I can be content that I'll always be able to pick my watches out in a lineup. Enjoy wearing, and enjoy that yours will be unique.
