I would say the Pepsi have to go. In the end it all depends on which one will give you better return selling. It's really a hard call, both of them are great watches.

Tough one. Initially I thought, keep the BLNR but if your Pepsi is all original with box and papers. You gotta keep that. You can always buy a BLNR for the next 10-15 years.

If I had a <5 piece collection, though, the old GMTs are far too flimsy and chintzy feeling to feel comfortable to wear it in the rotation. I have a coke (I have a 4 piece collection that I regularly wear) from the early 90's and it's getting the axe from the collection because I just don't feel like it has the same level of durability as the 6 digit models. The older bracelets with hollow links are just not what the new ones are, not to mention that you also get EZ link and ceramic with new models.

Have you considered adding the glide lock to your come? I agree the 16710 feels flimsy compared to the new ceramic models, but it is all due to the bracelet in my opinion.

Pepsi is a keeper. Finding a 5 digit Pepsi in great condition is getting very difficult.

I would keep the BLNR. I can’t get over the 5 digit bracelets. Sorry. The BLNR is the perfect GMT on oyster. The BLNR sells for more now and I would assume sell for more in the future as well. It is “discontinued” as well lol.

Question is what do you prefer, modern or vintage?

Both amazing. But I prefer modern so I would let the Pepsi go if it were me.

Keep both if you can. Keep Pepsi if you must get rid of one, but Batman future collectable too. Also depends what watch you want to replace for. Tell us.

There is only one true OG GMT, and it is the Pepsi.

I love the contrasting views of the replies. I’m sure OP was just as confused at the end. But that’s what makes TRF wonderful - everyone’s varying opinion.

I, too, am wondering what the final decision was! And what watch OP acquired!

Get your new watch.

But, keep them both.
In a few years you will be happy of this decision

It’s hard to call...

I think the BLNR will be discontinued one day and replaced possibly with the Coke, or another GMT bezel colour. As the current BLRO is a classic I believe like the Submariner it is here to stay permanent. With that in mind will a 5 digit reference outperform a discontinued 6 digit. I don’t know.... but just different slant to throw on things as I have not read this in the thread, and a ‘counter my to the other investment/collection posts.

If the watch is a daily wearer it’s a no brainier to keep the 6 digit. The difference is quality is night and day. If it’s to sit in a safe and occasional wear then I’m on the fence.
