Considering the number of views and comments, I thought I owed y’all some more pics - see below.

A few questions about watches and motivations I missed ... I really do appreciate ALL of the thoughts and suggestions!

Great collection.
Surprised you don't have a Tridor. Maybe that's next?
I have not owned a Tridor - Been tempted more than once, but then, IRL to me they just look two-tone, and I’m not a TT fan. (Too scarred by all the ugly brass and chrome in the 80s!) I do understand from a metallurgist friend that they are a truly commendable technical accomplishment. It’s interesting that these days Tridors bring little or no premium over a regular DD, while at retail IIRC they commanded quite a hefty premium. If crowncollection (or anyone else with 80s-early 90s price lists) sees this, I’d be interested to learn just what % premium the Tridors brought new at retail. (If one were buying PM with potential price appreciation in mind, I think the non-Masterpiece Tridors might be a good bet - Low production, technically admirable, a highly distinctive look, and currently out of favor.)

I have no DDs with Roman or diamond markers. Romans simply don't sing for me - I think markers in general are unnecessary, and Romans are another step beyond, with a little bit of a grandfather clock association. This is a purely idiosyncratic opinion - And, I’m delighted that it’s an unpopular opinion, because it means every WIS who loves the Romans isn’t competing with me for the others! Diamonds are not similarly an auto-DQ for me, but they have no particular appeal either. There are variants I’d like to add which only come with diamond dials, so it’s likely some sparkly bits will join the gang at some point.

I like the smooth and other non-fluted bezels a lot! - Indeed I prefer them to fluted bezels, they’re just hard to find with interesting dials, in good condition, at reasonable prices, etc. The onyx 18208 has a polished smooth/domed bezel, and the brick 1806 has a non-fluted bezel with Florentine decoration.

Interesting that there must be 15 or 20 comments specifically on the green Stella, and zero on the red one. - ?! I don’t know if this is because of the relative rarity of any Stella dials on WG, or because green is “a Rolex color” while red is not, or what exactly!

It’s not that I have no interest in the 6-digit/post-2000 DDs, it’s really more that the 5-digits look so similar that I struggle to justify the price difference. Some of the newer DDs do appeal to me, meteorite especially.

And of course, awesome collection
Yes, #3 is a factory mesh link bracelet - I think there were actually three slightly differing factory mesh bracelets offered on DDs over the years. I don’t recall the weight, but that one feels heavier than the others.

I have too much time on my hands. Going to do a search for "bark"!
Great stuff!!
The WG bark models do seem pretty rare. I assume that most new/retail buyers who wanted the subtlety of WG therefore declined the extra flash of bark decoration, and vice versa. To my eye it’s a truly great look IRL (and it’s always a safe bet to be the only one in the room).

I could not agree more! I’d love to have an oyster bracelet DD (riveted or not) and also put one on a Jubilee bracelet.

Love this comment - Are there two specific ones which appeal to you, or does the set just generally make you feel that (at least) two would not be redundant?

Here are a few pics I already had on hand, I promise I’ll shoot some more one fine day. Enjoy!

Oh shame on me ! I completely missed that smooth bezel black dial.

This thread is the best MOVIE in town. I can watch it over and over again. And find something I missed.

Thanks so much.

Nope, #15 is tiger eye, but #14 next to it is onyx. No DD2s (nor even any 6-digits), all are pre-2000 36mm.

You will defintely need to add a 118238 with white dial to round out your collection... If I can even say that. You've got plenty!

Awesome collection! Have you come across a white gold DD on the white gold jubilee? They exist but rare as hens teeth!
