I do wish some people would consider other people before posting. Too many people are more worried about how their hobby may be / is effected by people buying watches as a possible investment. Why shouldn’t other people get their enjoyment out of watches, even if their angle is slightly different?
I also have to laugh at some of the people saying the sums of money are too small to consider being an investment. Yes, in the grand scheme of things a £10k profit will not make any meaningful difference to most of us but it is still not an insignificant bonus. I wonder if all the people scoffing at a £10k profit really don’t worry about the odd £10k here and there when it comes to tipping the waiter, giving to charity etc etc? |

My recommendation if buying one is to assume that its value will plummet to virtually nothing. If that bothers you, don't buy it.
Also, if you get one, please enjoy it as it should be enjoyed and wear it every day. |

I think your first step should be spending 50k at the Ad so they even offer you a chance at seeing a Daytona from the back let alone offering you one to buy.

OP - Best bet is to buy what you like, enjoy it and maybe it will be worth more down the road...
As far as the forum, I suggest you build up post count with a few thousand “congrats” on incomings and then you will feel the love here. |

Buy what you truly love and wear it. If down the road you get out what you paid or more, that is just a bonus

A luxury watch like a Daytona is a fantastic investment. Except the ROI isn't in money, it's in the satisfaction and pleasure of having a beautiful piece of craftsmanship on your wrist whose precision is based on minute tolerances, regulated not by circuits, but by physics. Plus, that ROI is tax-free as it pays out.

Rolex Daytona as a possible investment
Marcus,
Welcome! Buy what you like. Yes, sport references usually appreciate. But that’s not why you should buy one. A Rolex is not an investment. Many other, better investments are available. Don’t try to convince yourself a Rolex is a good investment. It’s not. It’s a watch; it’s jewelry. If you buy at MSRP you won’t lose money. Don’t buy to make money. And don’t put it in the safe and only wear for special occasions. If you have the means, buy one. Wear it every day. These are mass produced watches. They are a commodity, albeit kind of hard to get at MSRP. Every day wearing a Rolex is a special occasion.

Buy an Invicta, in the long run, you'll make much more money.

Ask a grey dealer what they will buy it back from you for, you won’t be impressed
