TAG Heuer makes some really gorgeous watches. My Dad has a Quartz Chronograph from then, he's had it since 1991. It sits in my watch box, doesn't get much wrist time. It needs a service though. It's one of the nicest watches I've seen.

The only Tag I have is my Aquagraph. I flipped it quite some time ago to help fund my Sub C and it recently came back to me. I don't think I will ever get rid of it again. I think it is one of Tag's better engineered pieces for the function that it serves.

I have a quartz Link and I love it. Great watch. The only reason I haven't been wearing it is I recently picked up a vintage Datejust, but I will not get rid of the Tag. Had it a year and a half and have not had a single problem with it.

i've had 2 tags over the years, the first one being a formula 1, on which is already broken from a battery change, and i have no idea where it is now, and currently owns the golf watch, tiger woods edition. its not exactly what you would call a high end watch, but i've worn it on formal occasions, rotating it with my AP, and never looked out of place IMHO.

This old thing isn't exactly a Tag, but a Heuer Carrera with a Valjoux caliber 7736 from around 1975, about 10 years before Tag acquired the company. Its on a brown croc strap with butterfly deployant now.

This pic is from before I had it overhauled. Had the case stripped, divot mostly taken out of the left side, and replated, along with a movement service and crystal polishing. The dial is as new, just looks as it does due to the lighting and my lack of photographic skills.

Seeing as we have a Tag section and my every day watch (actually my only watch really) is a Tag I thought I would put my two bobs worth in.

It's nothing too special in terms of the watch, pretty generic looking with the date and 3 small dials on the face. The small bottom dial is the second hand that continuously moves, with the top right the point of a second during the stop watch function and the top right the hour hand for the stop watch function. On the main face you obviously have the hour and minute hands that are luminous but also two additional hands for the stop watch function. The smallest of the two is the second hand for the stop watch and the bigger one with the arrow at the top is the minute hand for the stop watch function (hope that makes sense).

My dad brought this watch for me as a 21st birthday present but also for completing my divers training with the Royal Navy. Since owning it I never take it off. Literally never. I play football with it, swim, run, eat, drink, sleep, ski in it and as it was designed I scuba dive in it. If I do it, so does the watch. It has even been on two 6 month stints to Iraq and the Northern Arabian Gulf back when I was a Marine Engineer. I cant speak highly enough of the watch and in the 6 years I have had it the only time it has gone to Tag was around 2 years ago when it needed a new battery. The case is a little scratched, as you would expect from the activities I do in it, but the glass is as perfect as it was when new, not a single mark, scratch or blemish.

My dad sadly passed away less than a year after he got this for me, so although it isn't worth much, the sentimental value is so high that doesn't matter. Here are some pics....

I purchased my 2000 Professional back in 2005; one battery change since then and it still runs great. I wore it everyday since purchase and absolutely love it.

Recently got a SS Datejust but I will definitely keep my Tag... even thinking of getting another one; a pre-owned Link or Tiger Link.

I have a 2000 professional & 2 aquaracers (waf1110 & waf1113). They get the most wrist time. My DJ is for weekends & special occasions. IMO Tags are great watches.

I really like Tags, and am in the hunt for an Aquaracer or GC. As far as resale, I think adherence to these guidelines is helpful: 1) never pay retail from an AD; 2) try to buy mint/near mint, LNIB, with most papers and confirmed authentic; 3) be patient, and don't buy a fixer upper.

For example, the Aquaracer Calibre 5 300m I am after (WAN2110) is $1400 on amazon, and a little less, authentic and boxed form one of the large, reliable online grey market sellers. They trade, used, on the Forums in the range of $700-900 in great condition, with all links/boxes. I should think the watch will be worth on the order of $500 for quite some time, kept in good condition. That is not a bad depreciaiton hit at all for me, because someone else took the brunt of it for me!

Having said all that, Rolex quality and constant price increases obviously keep Rolie value retention in a league of its own. I am just saying that, carefully bought, a Tag is not, in my opinion, nearly as bad a depreciation risk as people state.

The attached Tag Heuer WF1120-0 is my 25th wedding anniversary present from my wife, which she presented to me in 1994. It's an absolutely beautiful watch with a brown leather strap and I really haven't come across another one like it in all that time. I believe that the bezel is 18k gold with a Stainless Steel case. If anyone knows anything else about this model, I would appreciate it. I've had it for 17 years now and it's been flawless!

4000 Series if i'm not mistaken. Launched in 1990(?) and was part of TH's line up till 1999 although it was begining to be phased out by '97 by the arrival of the Kirium(which i own). Also the bezel will not be pure gold but plated in some manner.

Anytime. A few other bits of info i recall, these were mainly seen on bracelets rather than straps, you can tell yours is a quartz in two ways 1: it says 'professional' rather than 'Automatic' and it has the border round the markers auto's went without this.

I agree. I have 2 aquaracers & a 2000 professional & would never sell them because of the poor resale value.
