+1 for ABP. I've never had an R Strap, but I've had plenty of leather straps from them, and I've not been disappointed yet. Great products.

Yeah...I got the vintage one and indeed it was very poor.
But the strap itself was top notch.

I found that placing watches on different straps serves the same purpose as playing dress up with dolls. It holds my interest for a bit but ultimately, I get tired of playing. It's a bit of work with some potential for mishaps. I tend to leave things as they are with a collection of unused straps hanging about.

Just a random obersvation…those insisting that straps that don’t cost $200 plus aren’t worthy of a Rolex probably haven’t bought many straps. The only strap I’ve put on any Rolex I’ve owned was OEM Oysterflex with Smarty endlinks on my 116500 because I liked the look, but I have had decades of strap changing on Panerai, Seiko, Speedmaster, etc.
I’ve had $300 full customs from Combat Straps and Guny that were worth every penny, I literally got to spec the materials, the stitching, the size, even how many holes. But I’ve also had $24 rubber straps from Barton and Panatime that have given me years of service.
The idea that only expensive straps are any good is just nonsense.

A buddy bought a strap from Aliexpress for just under $15. What came is a Rubber B branded strap. So either this is a fake and they made a mold of a real RB or Rubber B makes them in China and a few fall off the back of the truck. No one that I know owns a RB, so can’t do a side by side comparison. What I can say is that it is much nicer than Horus. Horus are very soft silicone like and they attract dust and lint in a way that I have never seen. I returned my Horus for that reason.

FKM or vulcanized rubber seem to be the buzzword for a good quality strap.

That's pretty funny. You should probably be prepared for the indignation from a bunch of guys who paid hundreds of dollars for a rubber strap though...

Yeah, I returned my Horus, too, but, as I mentioned earlier, I have $30 FKM straps I like as much or more than RubberB and Everest.

I have one of those Chinese ones too. It seems really nice. Even says "Swiss Made"! Like you I don't have a real one to compare it too. But jeez it's a rubber strap. I used it for a few months before I went back to the bracelet. I figured if I liked it I'd buy a real one. I have the tang buckle model.

Changing a strap isn’t modifying a watch. You could buy a Rolex new on a rubber tropic strap all the way into the ‘90s, and bracelets were considered an option for decades.

I own a Rubber B and a Tempomat. The former is definitely much better than the latter but it is more expensive. I dislike and regretted buying the Tempomat because it attracts dust and lint easily which makes me think it may be silicone. I have since learnt to avoid any silicone straps due to its proneness to attract dust and lint.

100% agree, sooooo much this. From $20 Barton to $40 leather cuff from Amazon to Everest / RubberB and yes pricey OEM variety too.

Now that Rolex is allowing us to enjoy both bracelet types for some models, perhaps adding strap offerings is next? I'd love to see Rolex offer their own series of various colored rubber straps. Starting with the Submariner, YM, and GMT series seems like a natural launching point.

The Rubber B I have pictured above on the SD43 uses the deployant clasp from the Rolex bracelet.

This gave me a laugh Everything on eBay isn't crummy Having owned RubberB and other similarly branded rubber straps I can honestly say that this vendor's straps are pretty much the same quality. Having owned most of them for almost a year they still look pretty much new and show minimal (if any at all) wear

Ahh yes you are correct. You would need to use the tang buckle version for that. Not a bad option. You don't have to worry about swapping the clasp out every time you want to switch bacelet for strap, strap for bracelet.
