Guys, I know we are supposed to say RIP, and best wishes on the afterlife....but I am sorry, I cant. I will however keep my commens and true feelings about him to myself as there are many diffrent opinions about him, and I would truly hate to offend someone. But, condolences to HIS FAMILY, and thats about it.

For some meaningful stretches of my life, I thought his music was the best thing going. So, thank you for the great memories, Michael.

Well said and I completely agree Jarett. I will keep my comments about his lifestyle etc. private, but I wish his family, friends, anyone that mourns his loss strength during this difficult time.

P.S. Must admit, he was tremendously talented!

I feel I kind of grew up with MJ since he was born less than a month before me. He also lived down the road in Encino when i was living in Sherman Oaks so I used to see him occasionally. I've made my fair share of disparaging comments about many of the choices he made, but in the end, I only feel compassion for someone so enormously talented who was obviously so haunted and troubled. R.I.P. Michael.

I've had the opportunity to see one of his concerts, possibly his biggest one ever and the only one that was broadcasted live on TV... Dangerous Tour, in Bucharest back home.
It was the best show I have EVER seen and while many can be said about his personal life, I will never ever deny his right and place in the music history books. He really was the King of Pop and a true magician on the stage.

I'll leave you with this...

If you want to make the world a better place, take a look at yourself... and make that change.

He never had a normal life - on stage since the age of 5, pressure cooker life. And most of us could never know the kind of life he led. People say he was weird - of course! How couldn't he be? I read Peter Guralnick's books about Elvis and it's the same thing, a life of unreality.

But separating the personal life from the professional, he was an immense talent. The "Off The Wall" and "Thriller" albums are just fantastic productions and have their place in the history of music.

If it's the controversy about little boys..............the blame can start with the parents of those children, let's face it, I seriously doubt those said parents would have allowed their children to sleep over at anyone else's house. It's like being set up, sorta.

None the less, as a Medical Doctor, it's a shame to see a young life pass on. His life was full of events (good and bad)........it ended.

Why beat a dead horse?

I remember growing up with Michael. I also remember watching the televised Bucharest tour. It was absolutely phenomenal and the amount of unconscious people that were shown being carried out spoke volumes about his stage presence. I suppose a large part of my younger life was affected by Michael's performances and awesome musical talent. Yes I remember trying to perfect the moonwalk in my living room...lol. I think he empowered a lot of people in the world with a sense of worth that I believe not many artists have accomplished. He was a man of great depth and also troubled at the same time (hey aren't we all at times) but he shared great things with the world. Anyway....enough of my ramblings, Michael will be truly missed. May he R.I.P.

CNN confirmed about an hour ago what we all already knew. While I was never the biggest MJ fan, I vividly remember when Billie Jean debuted, the first time I saw the Thriller video, and Beat It. An untouchable talent, and a seemingly sad individual. Hopefully he can be remembered for his amazing contribution to music and his humanitarianism. I am shocked at the news, but he has peace at last.

Very sad. No question. He was so talented. You have to take away his personal choices and focus on how he contributed to music. Very sad loss indeed.

I bet Paul McCartney's people are already on the horn seeing how to get the Beatles recording rights back. Not that I have a dog in that fight, but the tension between the parties is well documented.

I hope the those who knew him and are mourning him the best wishes regardless of what I think of the man personally.

That's my line of thinking. I know there are some less than wonderful issues about him out there........but a lot of it is generated by the press. I've never had the full confirmed details about him or many other artists to pass judgement. So regardless of my own speculation on what he did or didn't do, I see a person that was trying to get it back together but faced with soooooo much stress, just didn't make it.

It was possibly one of the most tiring days of my life. Over 12 hours were spent in line, entering and leaving the stadium.
Every single person in the audience was screened with metal detectors and smelled by dogs. The lines were insane and the whole area was shot down for car traffic.
Snap opened the show, then MJ did his thing for about 3 hours or so. The stage was enormous... the speakers were even louder.

What a show... I am glad I made the trip to see it, even though I was not even 16 years old when that took place.

Very sad. I don't think I'll ever get to see a greater showmanship than what Michael did in Singapore in the 90's.

You just have to wonder, he received so much criticism by the media about how he behaved in public, wearing the masks and gloves etc, if there was some underlying conditions that were not made public. He had access to the best medical care that money could buy and yet at 50 he passed. Pretty tragic.

Very tragic indeed.

It seems that rockstars are cursed.

Over the course of history there were famous musicians who died too early, due to lifestyle and other strange things.

I still remember I was like 12 and tried to moonwalk with my pennyloafers, with the pennies in them... I did not do so well... I also remember being amazed by the black and white video... Groundbreaking at the time!!! R.I.P. M.J.

Maybe ask CNN, Justin. It's got nothing to do with this topic.
