I am a bit surprised he isn’t wearing something PM dressed that way as well - though the SD43 suits him, I would wear nothing but solid platinum references, always…as stated earlier, pretty sure he just makes a phone call and literally whatever he wants, in the Rolex lineup….past or present, it shows up….as it should. It's the best that the crown offers us in terms of resistance to pressure, and he know it !
Although it's 3 or 4X more waterproof than the usual, it's not that thick. Perfectly proportioned, it is less than 43mm on wrist, and designed with finer lugs than a "maxi case" (for example 116610).
The matte dial changes from the many lacquered ones.
The small red text, it's quite stupid, gives a pep in this sobriety, very appreciable.

You bring up a good point. If you’re CEO of a watch company, chances are you wear the watch you’re most proud to have helped develop and bring to market, not the one the most people have declared an “it” watch. The SD line is certainly among the company’s most technically advanced.
