Frankly there are lots of good brands which makes it difficult to pick one out.
But The Beatles were just on top for me. |

Brian Howe-era Bad Company was pretty good too. Holy Water, Here Comes Trouble and Dangerous Age are pretty good albums.
Often forgotten. Howe had a great voice.

Genesis, Yes, Pink Floyd, Camel, The Who... and of course Zep.
I guess Fleetwood Mac is originally British too. You didn't ask but North American favorites: Rush, Grateful Dead, Boston. Old Journey wasn't bad, either. I also loved Sammy Hagar-era Van Halen. Never liked DLR as a singer or a person.

The Psychedelic Furs.
I was 16 in 1984 when this song came out and I thought it was the most romantic song ever. A million years later, I still do...... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T87u5yuUVi8 |

Interesting to see how many people still like heavy metal. While I may have listened to that in my early teens I quickly outgrew it!

What a great thread!
I was born in the 80’s so I grew up with some great British bands to listen to.. Dire Straits. Romeo and Juliet is my favourite song of all time. Mark Knofler has to be the most underrated guitar player of all time. Paul Weller. His Jam days and solo stuff. Some great British music there. For me though. The Clash is the best band to ever exist. White Man in Hammersmith Palais is my favourite song of their’s. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Tull is definitely in my top 5. Seen them many times since Songs from the Wood.
Can’t believe how young Martin looks in that pic. Lol |

Right now, it’s XTC. Love how English they sound (Robert Wyatt has a similar appeal in terms of how English he sounds), incredible writing and production, and just so joyous and weird.
