Looks pretty good on your wrist!

No chance for you, or for me, or for us both!?

I am a large mammal and owned a DSSD JC for a year--just too thick for me and I didn't like the dial. A few months ago I purchased a SD43--love it! I have moved to the larger Rolex models: SD43, Sky-Dweller and Polar Explorer II. My BLRO will always be my favorite watch due to my aviation background but 40mm now seems so small compared to the larger Rolex.

Yeah, this 1 Challenge per dealer seems to be the policy, at least for now. I asked my AD, and so far Alberta got 2. The dealer in Edmonton got 1 and the dealer in Calgary also got 1.

I'm sure more will trickle in with time, but for now, supply seems low.

I like big watches but this watch is cartoonish on anyone unless you are the size of Andre the Giant . R.I.P.

based on these screenshots I'd say no loss for you. The SD looks 10x better on your wrist!

Here it is on my wrist, lug to lug is manageable, the thickness, TBD! It is remarkably 33% thicker than my ROO T3!

Definitely the best fit for it that I’ve seen!!! That’s probably comparable to what my black bay pro is going to look like on me when it arrives!

I think it looks great!

Icon7 To be honest

Parker you are one of the very few that this watch looks very good on. A few months ago I tried it on hoping to purchase but it was a bridge too far. If I ever buy it I'm telling no one

It's not terrible on your wrist. The L2L actually works ok for you. I still think the DSSD is the way to go. The thickness of this thing is just ridiculous.

Jeepers! Just tell the AD he would be really really really sad if he didn’t get you one. He’ll get the message.

You guys are hilarious! Been calling around to a few ADs here in LA and surprisingly not all of them even got one, some have a "exhibition version" that shows the watch and scale but isn't a working watch, odd!

I agree with the sentiment you will be able to get one from an AD. Small production but small demand, very specialized piece. I tried on an exhibition one last year at WOS in New York just a few weeks after its introduction. The SA told me they had had zero requests for one. Keep asking around, you will find one.

The deepsea challenge is huge and I don’t know how someone could wear it! If you have a big wrist the sea dweller deepsea would be a great choice and much easier to wear even it’s already big and thick!

The DSC looks ridiculous on pretty much 100% of wrists including in this thread…no offence to anyone who posted..but the watch is just too ridiculously big.

Even on your wrist it’s still a thick brick of a watch OP….the lug span even looks big on you which is crazy if you have a true 8.5’’ wrist

I’d get a James Cameron DS if I were you…..so much nicer and a better fit.

Funny how much that resembles the Breitling Superocean Automatic I just tried on a couple weeks ago head-on.

Going by your pics, i could do that watch.
I quite like the generous chamfer on the Crystal and the profile of the watch as one is likely to view it

For all of you out there, what are your thoughts on where pricing will go on it now that Rolex didn't discontinue it and more are coming off the line?

I passed on one here in Los Angeles the other day for 34K that sold yesterday, and a few others I have heard about selling in the last week or 2 have sold for around 34.5K.

I don't want to buy on the downward trend, as these large watches (48mm+) most always end up being available down the line for less than retail, but I also don't know where the market might go, hence me writing this.

Have read a lot of mixed reviews and mixed forecasts on it.

Any advice or inside track info would be greatly appreciated!

And if anyone out there is considering selling one, let's talk!

Thanks all!

PL
Apparently this is a Rolex approval watch only. If an AD wants to supply their VIP client, the purchase needs to be approved by Rolex.

Very small numbers made (for Rolex obviously), not a daily driver by any means however it will be a collectors item.

True enough.
But with a depth rating at the max end of the spectrum one has to make reasonable allowances
After all, these things are more compact than their experimental SS prototype/predecessor that actually went to the bottom, so it's not like the type hasn't recieved any tangible improvements in key areas to make it wearable.
With the movement being 0.5mm thinner, I wonder if that was a factor in making it a thinner watch with a similar reduction in thickness of the Ringlock
I understand the Crystal is fractionally thinner as well.

Perhaps the only common part with the original is the Caseback?

Great watch of the same size (diameter) as a Garmin Fenix 6 for those who have one for sport activities. Hence, no ridiculous at all for those who like to wear it.

Welcome to the forum!

I agree with you. Its one of the most EXTREME watches ever made, and (some) people on this forum wants it to fit like a 34 mm Calatrava.🙄 The lack of understanding is mind-boggling!

I would think these are very limited and hard to get new from an AD.
Only buy if you want, forget resale value. Buying used you will take a hit if you sell quickly on most stuff.
