I tryed both on last week.... Sorry but I was not taken by the Daytona. It didnt speak to me the way the DJ II did.
Dont be afraid to follow your own instincts and get what feels right to you.
Thats the problem I have with this type of questune. There will always opinions for both sides. Who cares what the rest would get...
Its your cash and you are going to wear the watch not everybody else.
good luck,
pete

Sorry efm

I did not mean to offend. Just my opinion. Everyone has a right to love what they love. Enjoy your Daytona. Maybe it will grow on me.

For the price of an SS Daytona, I am getting a Steel/yellowGold DateJust II and a 45 Omega PO.

I am desperately looking for a wristshot of the TT DJII with black dial either in arab or roman numeral to help me decide which variant to choose.

Somehow, that quote makes a lot of sense We are talking HOLY GRAIL here in many people's eyes, WIS or non-WIS.

I am going to have to go against most of the votes on this one..

I just received my TT DJII with black dial and roman numerals and IMHO it looks stunning, the 41mm makes the watch appear more sporty, but it maintains its dressy appearance...

I tried on a Daytona SS with white face and it did nothing for me...maybe if I had tried on a black faced version, it would have struck me differently...

But since getting my TT DJII and seeing what a beautiful, striking watch it is, my vote has to be for the DJII...

But like others have said...try both on, get a feel for what you enjoy, like and feel comfortable, and go with your heart...since it will be on YOUR wrist the only person that truly needs to satisfied is YOURSELF...good luck, and wear either in good health...

Happy Holidays

TT DJII would be my choice. Still not too keen on the SS Daytona.

Love my TT DJII!

I've taken a big interest in the DD2 & DJ2, its Classy, it's Bling and it's Big!

But it's still new, don't know if it will last. But it's a Rolex... =)

The resale will never be as good as a Daytona though...

I think that the daytona in nice but I made the same hard choice and went with the DJ II. There are not many out there yet so its more 'exclusive' and it has more wrist presence because its a bit bigger. I had a problem with the Daytona size....but am going to try it again to see if my instincs are right.

I own the Daytona and I now love the new DJ2 and badly want one . if you ask me if I would let go of my Daytona for the DJ2 , I would have to say NO . This is the moment to buy a SS Daytona as they are fairly readily available at the moment but this may change again in a year or two . The DJ2 will always be available and you could soon find them cheaper ( discounts) or second hand once the novelty wears off .

If the Daytona had a date I still would have to think hard. DJII is my vote.

The DJ2 would get my vote although the Daytona is nice,i think it is a bit small for the type of watch it is. Up the size to 44mm and my choice would be different. Whatever the choice is doesn't matter " its a Rolex !"

DJ II but I'm not a huge fan of the SS daytona's. Now the solid gold models really turn my crank but that wasn't an option lol Nor are they an option for me haha

Plus, the current dials on the DJII are plain weird (green romans??? blue tinted arabics???), it'll be a while before they come out with somethng normal or breath taking.
Maybe the "weird' dials are there for a similar reason to the larger size and
'differentness' of the DJ2 over the traditional Rolex design - to attract
new buyers (ie. those who would not previously consider buying a Rolex).

I don't like some (green romans? blue arabic? ) of it either, but my
guess is that the average age of a Rolex buyer was going up too much, and
the 'trendiness' of the new models is to try change this. I think Rolex would
like to avoid being like Cadillac - where the age of the average buyer got to
as high as 64.

To OP -- the look/size and usage setting of Daytona and DJ 2 is not that
different anymore, so just go for what looks and feels best on your wrist.

This is such a personal decision. A watch with a date or a chronograph without a date. C'mon, only you know your priorities here.

Well, nors, since this debuted Aug 25th of 2009, what did you decide on?

A Timex?

Because, with 3 posts, I don't think you're still out there.
