The Pepsi had a pre-release advantage over the BLNR as Rolex let the masses create more tension in anticipation for its release. Now that time has passed the scales become more even between the two until the rumors of the BLNR discontinued and then we will see a huge upward trend in popularity like we did with the Hulk.

Absolutely as there’s no denying there is more street hype to the Pepsi. That’s why I find it interesting as actual owners of the two models chime in as they are not as influenced by the hype as much anymore. Pics of watches sometimes don’t translate to the same spectacular wrist time experience.

Non-owners from the outside looking in hearing they have a three-year wait for the BLRO or one-year wait for the BLNR tends to fall into the idea the BLRO must be better cause the wait is longer yet both GMT models are more equal on the wrist at what they do.

Agreed. The same can be said for all the hype model references compared to each other as well.

I think polls like this are good to get a general view, but I'm think there are a number of reasons for people's responses. I think everyone falls into one of the following categories -

1. Those who voted BLRO because they genuinely just like the BLRO more.
2. Those who voted BLNR because they genuinely just like the BLNR more.
4. Those who voted BLRO because hype and "the market" says the BLRO is more desirable.
3. Those who voted BLNR because they couldn't get a BLRO from an AD.

My take as an eighty-one year old who lusted after a GMT-Master as a newly minted private pilot in 1964, and finally acquired a 1978 Ref 1675, is that the blue and red bezel insert is the original color combination introduced with the Ref 6542, and all the color combinations since are johnny-come-lately pretenders. History matters.

Have owned both before including the gold BLRO with blue dial. Currently have a BLRO again on oyster and still can’t connect with it. The blue is just too dark and it will be sold again soon for another BLNR. The BLNR is just so much more vibrant.

I have been drawn to the BLNR for a long time and never owned one...despite opportunities to buy one back in the day when they were still available in the $6-8k range used. Sigh.

I have been more of a dive watch person and one thing that's a bit polarizing to me is the large numbers on the bezels of modern GMTs.

I did try on the BLNR with jubilee bracelet at my AD (I absolutely LOVED IT) and they have me on a list to maybe get one though I'm not chasing after it all that aggressively, LOL. That blue on the BLNR is really compelling. Indigo Blue is my favorite color and the BLNR is pretty close to being my ideal blue. I have some weird notions of possibly trading in my Polar 216570 and/or Milgauss Z-Blue towards a BLNR...hmm.

Sady, I have to agree. Rolex had it right when the BLRO Cerachrom insert was introduced, and should have left well enough alone. If I wanted a 126710 BLRO today, I'd buy an early one used with colors closer to the aluminum inserts.

I have owned both. The BLNR I had was on the Jubilee. I liked the watch but it didn't strike me as anything special with the black portion of the bezel, just too common for my liking. The blue is amazing though.

The BLRO for me is fantastic. I love how the bezel changes color depending on lighting. I don't experience the pink and purple that some have as the bezel shows up blood red and a dark blue. So I rid myself of the BLNR and purchased the Oyster for the BLRO.

I feel the Jubilee is the most comfortable bracelet I have ever owned. Fits nicely and allows the watch to sit in a great spot on my wrist. However, the Oyster is no slouch and for now I am enjoying the BLRO on the Oyster. I will be switching between them to keep things "new".

I have had my BLRO for three years now and I don't foresee it leaving my collection.

I have both and would choose a BLRO because of the colors and the jubilee on mine. I really don’t like the polished links of the oyster on my BLNR. I also don’t favor the black section of the insert. It’s just kind of boring. That said the BLNR movement is far more smooth and keeps better time.

I prefer the BLRO, while the BLNR is great and would be my choice if the BLRO didn't exist, it just can't compare.

In direct sunlight, I can see a slight purple hue on the blue part of the BLRO, doesn't bother me though.

This is a tough one... I remember the day when batman was a very hot model followed by the Hulk, both watches have helped in creating the Rolex hype few years later.

BLNR was first introduced in 2013 (older reference) so its been around longer. The Pepsi was introduced in 2018, its bezel is more interesting but not by a big margin as both watches are more similar than different. However, I think there is more hype surrounding the Pepsi nowadays because of the discontinuation rumors so many are driven by the hype.

I got my BLNR on jubilee last month, and I remember asking my AD back in July for either BLRO or BLNR on jubilee, and I was happy to get what ever is offered as Rolex makes the best gmt in my opinion irrespective of colors

I own both BLRO and BLNR on Jubilee. I slightly prefer the BLNR but it’s relative. I never cared for the red on the BLRO until these current iterations (mine is 3 weeks old).

I definitely don’t see them as overlap and happy to own both…

Not to speculate too much but thinking out loud, I can see Rolex updating the colors on the BLRO bezel and possibly discontinuing the BLNR and replace it with a Coke or all black GMT. The BLNR has been out a long time.

I have a feeling the Pepsi will be gone and we will see the return of the coke.
