There is no wrong answer here.
Do what makes you happy - more importantly, whatever you decide it should be your decision, not that of strangers on the internet. The piece you chase is as amazing as the 3 you have. Not sure which way I would go, but maybe sell the Pepsi & Daytona, but keep the Starbucks as your beater. I don’t know, good luck. Of course once you do that, you’ll miss the Daytona’ |

It would be prudent to refrain from making a hasty decision. Take your time and, if feasible, examine the watch you are contemplating trading for. I would advise against finalizing the decision until you have had the opportunity to inspect the watch in person. Upon seeing it, your perspective may change.

I wouldn’t…but if you see the Pepsi Meteorite as your exit watch go for it.

I personally would not. I would keep the Pepsi and Daytona and trade the Submariner for something else?

I’d move the Pepsi and sub and keep the Daytona. The Daytona would be the hardest to replace unless itsthe pre ceramic. The sub would be the easiest to replace. And add the cash difference.
The meteorite Pepsi and steel panda would be an awesome pair. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Yeah. Do it if it’s what you want want. I would get a cheap breitling/omega/panerai or something of the sort to have also.
In regards to an earlier comment about saving up to buy it in 2/3 years, I think the this is a bad idea. Tomorrow is never promised and we all think we will live forever. In a year or so time, you may not even want to buy it anymore. I’m all for impulse! |

I can only say what I would do. What you would do is an entirely different matter. I would add the 19 to my collection, maybe slide a couple out to reduce the cost, and keep my 10. There's something about a SS BLRO on Jubilee. I know I would instantly regret selling it even if I had the WG one. Irrational maybe but that's people for you.

I would say do it if this is some amazing grail to you. It’s a cool watch, definitely something to have in a collection, but not some end all. I thought you were going to say some cool Patek or independent model when I read the thread title, not what appears to be a basic Rolex GMT.
Also with that bezel, no way I’m wearing some colorful watch like that in a serious/formal occasion, I think that would come across insanely childish, so at the minimum would need something else a bit more monochrome. Different strokes for different folks though. |

Hard no. Your collection is great now and covers a lot of bases. I know there are plenty of people who daily their meteorite gmt, I just don’t see it as a daily watch.
Your collection is better now, in my opinion than it would be with just the white gold gmt Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Consolidation is sometimes good and you only wear one watch at a time. But a little variety is good and a one watch collection is tough when it needs service.

I’m all for consolidating for a next level watch (or car for that matter), I've done it several times. If it were me personally, in this particular scenario, I would not do that trade unless I were at least keeping also 1 SS Rolex, AP, PP, Omega, etc….

The meteorite GMT may be your grail watch today but will it be your grail watch tomorrow? No interest in any higher end brands?

You will be one of the few people in the state with this watch, so that would make it a lot more fun. However, I really think you'd regret it. I traded some stuff into a a YG Daytona and regret it. I could've traded into the Pepsi meteorite (and wish that I had), and I confidently think now that I would've regretted that, too.
I'd sit on this for a long time before doing it if I were you! |

I support trading up, multiple times in the past I traded all my watches for one “grail” and rebuilt.
My only question is have you tried on the gmt meteorite? I thought it was the perfect watch for me: PM, Pepsi, special dial.. but on the wrist it wasn’t what I had built it up in my head to be.. my point is- I think it’s worth trading all three watches for something amazing but I’m just not sure that’s the one- maybe for you it is and that’s all that matters. Don’t think too much about it, you can replace any of those watches you’re trading (great watches by the way) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I wouldn’t. Also your “grail watch” will change over the years.

Hard pass, for me. I could never be content with just one watch. Also, your current collection is really nice.

I wouldtrade all three. I have just recently traded 4 steel watches ( 2x sub, Ap Diver & Ym) for 2 Oysterflex models WG Daytona baby & Ym 40 RG . I'd do the trade any day if that one is Your Grail ( I'd go for Meteorite daytona Oysterflex as my only watch no question )

MAKE THE WISE INVESTMENT and a good play, I would Keep the Daytona SS and Dump the other 2 SS for the White Gold Meteorite 100% with the price of gold near 2650 and headed to 3k This will actually climb in value for sure and then the chances it gets discontinued is great over the next few years. Also you can find a deal on a WG Meteorite right now in the high 40k range on Moda I have seen them as low as 47k-49K for sure!
This gives you the two Watch grail collection. |
