I had a tropical vacation home before I had a Rolex. LOL. In fact it was an AD located near my vacationer that turned me on to watch collecting entirely.

BLNR at 32 when I could finally afford it. Afford is a subjective term... the money could have been better spent putting food on the table but the wife and kid have become quite the little scavengers since Dec 2019!

Seadweller 16600 I purchased in 1991 from Mayor's.

Prior to that, a G-Shock DW-5000 I purchased in 1983, while in high school, from Service Merchandise. Scanning the G-Shocks & Seikos in their catalogue occupied a fair amount of my time.

At 17 my dad promised me a car, I soon passed my test, when I showed him my license, he gave me his Air King from the 70's and said, well done, forget the car.

A few years later, I bought my first used Rolex from some nice wins by playing a card up that doesn't need to count pass 21.

25 years old in 1985. A new 34mm oyster perpetual Date on a jubilee. Bought it on sale, MSRP was $1,200, got it for $960. Yes, an advertised 20% off sale at an AD. Sold it eight years later for $700 to fund an 1803 DayDate that I had for many years.

Bought an Air King (116900) this year, age 42. Watches before were mainly given to me as gifts, nothing really special other than the fact they were given by loved ones. Pretty sure I'll be buying more...

I was 53 years old when I got my first Rolex in 2020. Before this, I was wearing various digital watches including vintage LCD watches.

I just bought my fifth Rolex last week.

A Submariner 5513 in 1970 when 22 years old. Bought right after college during a month long trip across Europe. Got it in Zürich at Chronometrie Beyer for $130. Had a Tissot PR-516 with a 24 hour dial. Gave that to my younger brother.
