What Rolex model you would never ever buy?

But the OP39 was the entry level model for men’s Rolex watches. It is priced the cheapest.

This isnt subjective it is what it is.
I’m not bringing up waitlists or resale values or even crowd favorites. I am talking about from a pure point by point basis that the submariner is more premium than a OP

I don’t know how else to explains this

Tried to give you the benefit of the doubt on that but you just keep doubling down. Not the end of the world though.

OPs are great watches and can and do co-exist in a collection alongside subs, gmts, etc.

Never said OPs can’t co exist in a collection.
I just said I wanted to upgrade to a better watch which the submariner undoubtedly is.

OP is as great as a Sub. In fact, OP is a better deal. Its half the price of the Submariner and it was widely available in pretty much any AD.
You still get a Rolex, it has the best bracelet ever, the brushed oyster....and the same movement. Yes, there is no ceramic bezel, no glide-lock...but there is 5000 $ in my pocket and Im still wearing a brand new sport model Rolex.


What we are expressing here is our own preferences, models we wont buy because we don't like them for various reasons.
I can argue anything you say because I have a different perspective.

Subs are great but OPs are just as great.....entry level or not.

My take on the OP below.

People who worry about it being "entry-level" (lol), it's still a 5k watch. If you can afford to spend 5k on a watch, you can also afford a more expensive piece.

In my experience, most people that can afford and buy the OP are in a better financial position than the ones buying Submariners.

You won't want to hear this but if ever there was a watch that screamed 'entry level enthusiast' then it's a Rolex SS Sub.

Those kind of statements make you sound like the sort of person that would wear a Sub because you can't afford a Daytona.

To answer the question, I'd never say never.

There are a few I don't currently like, but tastes change over the years, back in my 20's I wouldn't have worn a TT Sub LN, but now I'm in my late 40's it's one of my favourite watches. In my humble opinion they look better on older guys.

I'm not a big fan of the GMTs with cartoon names, but maybe that will change.

Right now I alternate between a YM 116655 and a 116613LN as daily wearers, but that may change with time.

I cant see me ever wearing a diamond studded yellow gold day/date - but who knows.

I think half of the models are a no go for me: any Cellini, DJ, Day/Date, OP. But really, I don't see myself getting another rolex outside of the ExpII I currently own. It's the perfect rolex for me.

I just noticed that this started in 2016. Imagine that. 4 years and people have continued to list Rolexes they would not buy. I skipped from the first to the last so I must have missed all the variants of models (Great White, but only with...), etc.
