That sounds great. I think the white rubber with the glacier blue is awesome.

That may be a bit Miami or LA, though.

So you're saying it's perfect!

I love swapping bands / bracelets. It expands the possibilities.

Congrats bibbi

Are you able to share pricing of additional rubber or leather straps? I picked navy blue rubber to go with my Glacier Blue order, but I'm also interested in white rubber and the navy leather with light blue stitching.

I am lusting after the new Antarctique with Glacier Blue dial. It's within shouting range budget wise, but not quite there.

Alas, I will probably miss the allocation window before it becomes sold out or the waiting list becomes a Rolex-like "who knows, may be" type deal.

Sadness all around.

If it helps, you "only" pay 5k now and the balance before delivery so you should have time to save up. The way things are going, you'll probably take delivery mid to late next year so there's time :-)

I've seriously contemplated that very method.

However, if the call comes in 3 months (hahaha...I know), I might have to sell one of my kidneys for a few thousand.

You shouldn’t worry. What you reserve is an actual production date. Czapek doesn’t produce watches in advance. Each one is custom-made, so to say.

At the worst case scenario you’ll risk CHF100…

I can safely say I don't think the call will come in 3 months, looking at a year plus at this point. If up front cash is an issue, I believe Topper is taking orders for $1k deposit, at least according to their site:

I would second this question - very helpful since I would likely order at least one extra strap and clasp if possible.

Here's the tricky part.

The rubber strap includes the deployant buckle and the two fittings to mount the strap to the watch head using the Czapek quick connector system.

The calf strap includes the pin buckle and the two fittings to mount the strap to the watch head using the Czapek quick connector system.

Both the buckle and connectors are attached to the strap using tiny screws and loctite. We REALLY REALLY REALLY don't recommend the customer try to break the loctite and move the fittings from strap to strap, so we sell the entire system of strap, buckle and fittings for $880 (CHF800).

There are prices for the rubber strap alone $330 (CHF300) and the calf strap alone $440 (CHF400) but you're gonna be eating crow when you call to tell me that you lost or broke off a screw or boogered the slot with your screwdriver set.

Please just buy the system if you want a second strap.

:)

Thanks, Mike, appreciate the info! Maybe for the eventual gen 2 Antarctique, a system where the strap can be more easily swapped between the fittings would be a welcome refinement.

Thanks for the great info! Will do my best to be careful as ordered four rubber and one leather strap. Is it Loc-tite blue, red, or ????

Can we order it with just the connectors and not buckle? If so what would be the cost?

That would be nice. Swapping the clasp is pretty easy on the rubber strap. I wouldn't mind doing that, and paying extra for the connectors.

Seems that most people have opted for the rubber strap over the leather strap as their extra. How is the leather strap sized?

Exquisite Timepieces just took a used Antarctique in, it’s in their used section in the website. Deep blue with full red seconds hand. Spectacular watch.

Wow, $23,000 premium for a preowned watch that is available to order, albeit with a 1 year wait. That’s pretty steep, but I suppose if you have to have it now, that’s the price to pay.

Agree it’s a beautiful watch, but $45k is an absolute joke. I really hope no one is paying that (it’s just a 1-1.5yr wait)…will create a very distorted market.

I see all those prices and I wonder: do the actual sales take place at those prices?

A retailer like ExquisiteTimepieces can just sit on the inventory for a long time until they get someone in there who simply doesn’t want to wait and is willing to pay the premium. I wouldn’t consider that to be anywhere close to the true market price though.

The leather strap is a traditional strap with multiple holes and a pin buckle.

Not only that but if you want to sell customers on placing an order it’s nice to say here check this preowned one out we have for xxxx over msrp. Clients who are willing to wait can pay msrp.
