For me this one is easy......the GMT11C. It is versatile and can be worn with a suit or shorts and a tee shirt. So if it has to be one this would get my nod by a long way.

I'd vote for a SS Sub Date, but the Explorer I would be a close second.

hi,
i am a brand new member here but have been reading for a while the forum so i decided to join in.

my vote would go for the dj. i love all other rolexes and wear a more sporty piece (omega speedmaster professional mark II) as an everyday watch i would not use it for black tie events (not even for more casual business events). it is just to big.
maybe a millgaus would be perfect as well.

OK, I'll throw in... SS WF Daytona. I've been wearing my newly acquired one daily for over a week and I've yet to get a, "Hey that's a nice watch" or a, "Is that a Daytona" or any comment of any kind - which is a big plus in my mind. This is definitely not a BLING watch and it really looks great next to the cuff of a starched white dress shirt or my ratty grey sweat shirt. Lovin it.

despite the fact that ive sold my Sea-dweller and bought a SS Daytona, I would say that a Sea-Dweller would be my choice.

Great for every situation

+1 on the Daytona. I've only owned it for a bit over a week and have worn it daily: From the Monday crisp white dress shirt to the Saturday ratty grey sweatshirt the Daytona looks well suited. Also have to say that it really doesn't draw nearly the attention I thought it might (A good thing in my mind).

Cheers!

I'd still vote the Datejust or DJII. Even though the II is 41mm, the bezel is very understated and makes the watch wear smaller than it really is.
I couldn't more! It probably works better in all stainless steel for most clothing combinations. But we all know that you will not just settle for only one!

I would say, for me at least, the Sub LV w/ an extra bezel with black insert, sporty yet dressy when need be and such a classic Rolex Icon.

I would choose (which is what I have) the Sub Date. SD would work too, but as far as an all round watch that can get wet, go on a safari in Africa take abuse and be worn to a BBQ or a Ball and look right at home at either. That to me is the all round watch and is what I chose and wear most of the time, and will be on my wrist when I go back to Africa this year.

I think the 116710 would be a good all arounder. It does a lot of things well, including dressing up.
