Carl is right. Duct tape has to be involved here somewhere.

Plus, it won't hurt the cat.
Have you seen the cat?

Go to a Durable Medical Equipment (DME) store and buy a reacher to get your watch back. Good luck

What about those claws to pick up rubbish of the ground, if that happen to me I would just cut the back of the wardrobe out get the watch and then use that spot as a secret stash

What's less of a hassle?
a. Retrieving your watch by any means neccassary
b. Explaining to the in-laws you're not wearing the Rolex because you dropped behind furniture.

Well, if I had a Rolex lodged in such a place, I'd have had that wardrobe disassembled the first chance I had, even if I had to call in a specialist, whatever that might be.

I worked for a furniture store, so I know that furniture can either be very easy to disassemble, as is the case with much of the furniture that comes to the US from Scandinavia or quite difficult as is the case of handmade furniture.

Whatever the case I'd find a way and it wouldn't be for the in-laws, either, even if they gave it to me.

The one thing is that it's probably safe down there.

If there is enough room for you to tilt the thing far enough back to insert a rod or coat hanger, then that'd be my first attempt. I'd move it enough to the left in the picture to have some room to work in what appears to be a hallway. After that, I'd get a screw driver and a rubber mallet and go to town, so to speak.

Have you seen that Cat?

Aint no way that thing could fit in that little hole.

That cat would have died all nine times if it ever tried.

I think the OP mentioned that a couple pages back. I may have missed it, but that's because I was more worried about the cat.

I like the hole saw method. I agree with some people here... If I lost my Rolex in a place like that I would make a hole or dismantle part of the cabinet.

Just came up with another solution!!

Clear all the contents out of the closet, including draws and even the sliders if easy to do.
Lay the cabinet down on it's face or back, which ever is easier.
Then pic up the bottom and lift up until you have enough angle to allow the watch to slide back out of the top and onto the floor!!!

Caveat for Dan: make sure the cat is not in the room at the same time!!
