You're right

As to Hublot keeping their value - i couldn't care less - I buy watches to enjoy: and for the reason above that won't include Hublot. (Ironically the spellchecker keeps trying to change Hublot into Sublet...) Wear what you like, but for some of us original, iconic watches with pedigree are what appeal. |

She is now married to a former classmate of mine, Ruben Mira who happens to be the CEO of Cyrus Watches. I am wondering if having a father in law like JC facilitated him to grasp that position. Like they say it is more who you know than what you know. I was a little bit intrigued because I remember Ruben, like me, being not too keen on studying hard LOL! Anyway it is no joke being the head of a luxury watch company so he gets all my credit. Bottom line is Switzerland is such a small country where everyone knows everyone and I am glad I left!! Maybe I would have married someone's little sis LOL!!! |

I think it's fair to say most people, when they think of AP, they would think of ROO and Royal Oak, which has a great design but can they match Hublot's innovation particularly in the last decade?
Minute repeaters, the Dive watch that goes the deepest and La Ferrai with the 50 day power reserve. Not to mention their world time models, ultrathin and the Mag Bang especially. I'd argue AP has really stood still in recent decades and riding on the back of the success of the Genta design still |

The watches don't really compete IMO. It is like Mercedes and BMW, Ferrari and Lamborghini -- very different customers. AP is finer, more tradition, rarer -- and costs more. Hublot is more accessible, more widely available and sturdier for daily wear. The whole comparison is pretty artificial IMO because they aren't really competitors.

check out this guy's instagram: https://www.instagram.com/shameonwrist/
he hates hublot with a passion! he's not too fond of AP either, but hublot is always the butt of his jokes |
