I think that is HORRIBLE!!!
I just hope that if you get that much money to spend on a watch then I hope the owner has bought a hospital wing or a school or done something for society.
Ghastly, totally ghastly

And the crown doesn't line up either with the body of the watch!

Being the business man that he was, he would probably try to find ways to make and sell more. I smell a 50% margin here. I just wonder what type of Rolex's patrons would buy a thing like this? To each his own I guess.....

Well said Frans...it makes me laugh when people comment about Hans Wilsdorf and what he would have thought...so many of us knew him so well personally and all.

From what I have learnt, he seemed a savvy business man with a keen eye on marketing strategy...Mercedes Gleitze anyone?????

Tool watches...are we kindding ourselves? Rolex is a luxury brand and they make (and have always made) jewellry! These diamond encrusted bling monsters are becoming more prominent whilst there are rumours abound that the SD will be discontinued. That basically says it all.

It isn't exactly my cup of tea as I would never be sure of where exactly to wear it?
One thing is for sure, it's better looking than the ruby and sapphire encrusted "Pepsi" and there will always be a sports star or hip hop star ready to part with their money for it!

I do like that white box though.....

The only thing that kinda bothers me about the watch (despite that everywhere you look there is like an army of diamonds) is that there is a 24 hour hand on the dial.

It never made sense to me why the 24 hour hand is there when there are no numbers to be read of from the bezel. Is that 24 hour hand completely useless and is only there just for show? I can't see how it can be used for a second/third timezone yet alone an AM/PM indicator.

Now thats a watch you'd see P. Diddy himself wear.

Well since Jocke said that only 10 of them will ever be made total, I say that's definitely a possibility.

Isn't it though

I'd be afraid of wearing it and knocking a diamond out if my wrist the wall. I'm good for that at least once a week

I read about this watch.

It was originally owned by Liberace.

He sent it back as it was too ostentatious for him.

All joking aside, I’d rather wish Rolex would use their technological prowess to produce 10 watches of a different kind and equal in price. But they chose the easy way out. Take a standard model, make it in a rare and precious metal and sprinkle 400 grand worth of diamonds over it. The lazy man’s approach. What they could, and in my opinion, should have done is follow the path of IWC and Patek and show the world what Haute Horlogerie really means and produce a true stunning piece of high complication. A lost chance because they have shown in the past what they are capable of.
