Do We Need Watch Winders?

I think if I had a perpetual calendar in the collection, I would consider a winder, otherwise just reset my simple three handers as needed.

Does this mean we should get any watch that might have been sitting for a bit serviced by an AD? Or is this a normal part of a purchase?
