i LOVE the new DaytonaC but they seem like different watches completely. New one is not nearly as versatile..

More and more this is becoming a must have item. I always worry about Daytona bezel dents and scratches. Now that this issues has been address, this is an ideal daily wearer.

Side by side.. Wow both of then looks good.
The ceramic looks better in the professional pictures and not as good in real life pictures. But like most people say ceramic is hard to photo well. SS looks good here , agree with SS looks for dressy and ceramic more sporty |

The best answer is to get both old and new but in opposite colors. Then you have your bases covered.

I will buy the SS white dial ceramic and brush the pcl's and lugs. Then I will be in daytona heaven.

I don't see the new one replacing the older one, I see a new choice. I hope both stay in production so that you could buy both in either colour. After all, they are just offering another choice of face and bezel colour so it would not be a problem to offer both. I would like to see a watch with the new darker sub dials with the SS bezel. I think that that would look good, but I can't see that choice being offered unfortunately! |

The third material makes it less traditional IMHO. Ceramic works for a sub because the colored ring standing out became iconic pretty early in the model lineup. For the Daytona the ceramic ring devaluates it for me personally.
I like the traditional metal/glass combo. Now it's metal/ceramic/glass |

I had to flip that pic and narrow it down because looking at the original whilst standing on my head was blurring my judgement with all that blood in my noggin.
I think cleaner text on the C500 dial and stark contrast of the bezel is a winner. Also, in low light, the PVD'd Platinum deposited in the Tachymeter scale will be more visible.

I like that the sub-dials are returning to black ala the Zenith model. The silver sub-dials seemed to get lost in my opinion.

Another vote for the SS. On Wednesday I got carried away in the initial hype and even mailed my AD to reserve a SSC but now I'm thinking hmmmmmm. The SS just looks like a far more polished (pun intended) watch in my eyes. Reckon I'll stick with my white dial SS and SubC combination 😉 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Here's my take. The ceramic is stunning. I'm now sitting on a DeepSea D-Blue. I have the SS Daytona and I will be honest... the DeepSea really has a hard time leaving my wrist. The presence is just very solid.
I am floored by the Daytona SS-C. It is a very nice watch but it'd need to PROBABLY be an addition and not a replacement. The SS is so much more classy but I will say that the white faced SS-C is a thing of beauty. The reason why I bring up that DeepSea D-Blue is the ceramic bezel is a look that is best served up on that beast. Scratched or not (which it cleans up well if you know what you are doing...) the SS Daytona is hard to resist for it's classic look. May... have... to... splurge...though... My girlfriend has been trying to steal my SS Daytona. She seems to really approve of the new look. Then again, it may be a ruse to get me off my Daytona. These women are so tricky now days. She'll force me to buy it at least that's how I put the spin... "she made me do it... I'm so weak..." |

Both good looking watches. I had a chance to buy a Daytona many a time over the last 4 years by passed for three reasons. The bezel scratches, the size and the sub-dial colour/legibility.
The new one has fixed two of the issues and the ceramic bezel may make the size appear larger. So the new one goes straight in my basket! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Both look great.
One of the main reasons I've not acquired a Daytona, even though it's 40mm was that it looked too small on my wrist (8"). The black bezel solves that issue for me. |
